"All right, listen up" Jake announced as he rushed into the bullpen, holding a cup of coffee. "What you're about to see is highly disturbing, but please, no comments. This man is in pain, so above all else, be kind."

"What the fuck are you on about, Jake?" Neveah scoffed from her desk, chair turned around to face the elevator doors. Neveah's question was answered as Charles, dressed head to toe in all black, walked through the gate to the bullpen. "Oh, nevermind then."

"Good morning, Boyle." Terry greeted, a hesitant edge to his voice.

"Let's just get it out there." Charles announced, having stopped in the middle of the bullpen. "Vivina broke up with me last night. The wedding's off, and this is what I'm like now. Life is a pit." Charles finished his explanation with a gesture to his current attire, not having taken a moment to take his sunglasses.

"Excuse me?" Gina interrupted, "I don't understand. Did you already have a matrix getup at home for some reason?"

"No, Gina. I bought this with the money I was going to spend on our honeymoon to Cape Canaveral." Charles explained, a desolate tone taking over his voice.

"I'm so sorry, buddy" Jake said, sitting on his desk rather than his desk chair.

"Don't be. I'm settling into the darkness nicely." Charles argued, finally taking of his sunglasses, pointing at Rosa. "I definitely get you now."

"What you got there, Boyle?" Neveah asked as Charles pulled out a ziploc bag of peeled boiled eggs from his laptop bag.

"Eggs in a bag" Charles replied as he sat down at his desk, opening the bag. "Nothing brings me joy anymore, not even food. Now, I only eat for sustenance." Charles took a bite of one of the eggs, putting the rest of it inside his jacket pocket.

"Smart...Save that for later." Jake grimaced, letting out a fake chuckle.

"Peralta?" Holt took a step outside of his office as he asked for the detective. "My office, now."

"Sir?" Jake asked as he walked into the office, Holt shutting the door behind him. "Ah...Commissioner Podolski. It's been a while."

"Maybe because you haven't put any of my children in handcuffs recently." Podolski shot back, looking up from the file he was holding.

"Yay, enemies for life" Jake cheered, sarcasm drowning his tone as he faked a chuckle.

"Peralta, have you been investigating Lucas Wint?" Holt questioned, now sitting at his desk.

"Uh, yeah I have been, and Neveah's been helping me here and there with it. I think he's been laundering money for drug dealers." Jake explained.

"Don't be an idiot." Podolski interrupted. "Lucas Wint is a civic leader. He runs a major charity, his community centre is the lifeblood of that neighbourhood, and he officially claims you have been harassing him." Podolski held up the complaint file after he had finished, handing the file to the detective.
