"Okay guys, Captain and I are going to a charity event in Brighton Beach." Terry announced as he stood up from his desk, grabbing his bag and jacket. "Have a great Thanksgiving." Charles stared at Terry and forced a cough to gain his attention. "Sorry, Boyle. Turkey Day."

"Once Sergeant Jeffords and I are gone, Peralta will be the officer in command." Holt spoke as he walked out of his office.

"Jake in charge. No look five." Jake moved his hand to high-five Holt, hitting his ear instead "That's not your hand. Wait. Is that a healed over earring hole?" Jake gasped, grabbing Holt's lobe softly. "Do you have a scandalous past?"

"I was stabbed in the line of duty. The scar extends through the lobe and into the neck." Holt explained, deadpanned as he looked at Jake.

"No one likes it when you do that." Jake complained with a huff, looking away as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"Anyway, thank you for taking command of the precinct over the holiday." Holt continued on with his announcement from before.

"Not a problem. As you all know, I hate Thanksgiving." Jake shrugged, "The pilgrims were murderers, and turkey tastes like napkins. I just hope that no Amys feel bad that I was chosen over Amy."

"Actually, Captain asked me first, but I had plans." Amy grinned, "Teddy brewed a Thanksgiving pilsner, and it's bottling day."

"Bottling day?" Jake faked shock, "Why'd you come in at all? And frankly, sir, I'm a little hurt that I wasn't your top choice to be in charge."

"Mate, you weren't even the second choice." Neveah interrupted, playing with the keys to her Nissan Skyline absently. "Cap asked me after Amy, but I got plans tonight."

"How do you have Thanksgiving plans?" Jake raised an eyebrow. "As far as I recall, you're Australian, you don't celebrate Thanksgiving."

"Never said they were Thanksgiving plans." Neveah smirked with a little wink as she walked back to her desk, a hint of a strut to her walk.

"I'd like to remind you of what happened when I asked you to run the blood drive." Holt brought up, making Jake remember the time he donated 5 pints of blood as a result of him forgetting about the posters.

"It's one 12-hour shift." Jake rolled his eyes, "What are you afraid is gonna happen?"

"Injury, death, general calamity." Holt deadpanned, tone unimpressed. "Just don't burn the place down."

"You can count on me, sir." Jake grinned, "Happy Thanksgiving."

"Turkey day."

"Sorry, Boyle."

99th Precinct, 11:06 am

"I know you're all leaving in an hour, but until that time, you're under my command." Jake explained to the squad as they gathered in Holt's, now Jake's for the time being, office. "And as leader, it is my job to make my employees' lives better, so what can I do for you? Gina?"
