The last thing I excepted to wake up to was the hot sun beaming through the window. I eventually squinted my eyes open, my head instantly starting to throb as I sat up from my bed.
Val had her airpods in, cleaning up the dorm room as if it was a normal occurrence to do after being out all night. I let out a groan as I ran my hands down my face. My phone read 11am, which was way too early to be cleaning up the dorm.
"Valentina brown" I yelled loud enough for her to hear through her music, she spun around facing me with her bright smile. "Oh great you're up! there's water and aspirin there, I can't wait to tell you everything about last night!" she jumped up and down before plopping herself down on my bed.
I pulled at the roots of my hair before downing the two aspirin, and half the water bottle along with it, ready to hear the long chain of events that went on with Val last night.
"I think I'm in love" She started, dramatically throwing her head back with the back of her hand resting on her forehead. "It was all too good to be true, like I was in a fairytale, a weird, college frat party fairytale" I couldn't help but chuckle at her statement, the pain in my head subsiding as she spoke.
"I hate to tell you this but I was incredibly glad I got back first, things got a little...headed to say the least. But- oh! He invited us over to his dorm tonight to hang out with him and his friends? Please come, pleasee" she whined, grabbing my hand and shaking it softly.
My eyes were still wide, thinking about what she first said, "It didn't get heated on my bed right?" she quickly shook her head now, to which I let out a deep breath I didn't know I was holding.
"I'll come..only if I can leave whenever I want" As soon as the words left my mouth, Val sprung up from my bed, dancing around the room like a mad man. "Look at us already making friends! Oh shit..speaking of friends I have to go meet Sebastian in the dining hall, I'll see you later okay?" She placed a kiss on my cheek before rushing out of the door, leaving me in peaceful silence.
After I finally adjusted to be being awake, I just myself out of bed and headed towards the bathroom. My mind couldn't stop replaying the interactions with mr brown eyes, how he seemed so cold and stand-offish.
I used to never understand how people could be like that. I was always with friends, going out and having fun. There was never a dull moment in my high school years. Towards the end of high school I started to change, and I still don't know why.
I went through these intense ups and downs, which quickly made me push people away, even thought after all was said and done I really didn't want to.
I've started to manage these episodes you could call them, but they were still prominent. I understand his quietness, during my downs I don't speak much, or do much at all honestly. If I don't have to, I refuse to get out of bed, sometimes I don't even go on my phone, I just lay there or sleep the days away.
