I was exhausted. Between my emotional breakdown with Fidestro, trying to maintain my queenly wardrobe, and verbally battling Hoen across the dinner table, I had spent every ounce of energy I had. When I told the royal family that I wasn't feeling well, I had thought it was a quick lie to excuse myself, but now that the adrenaline was coming down, I didn't feel good at all. This didn't escape Jimmy's notice of course, so he promptly corralled me to my room. I hadn't even noticed until we were in front of my door.
Jimmy just went about leaning against the wall and pulling out his cellphone. I opened the door grateful to see the bed and quiet space that I now called home. I glanced at Jimmy and his phone.
"What do you even do on there?" I asked.
"Games. I'm currently fucking killing it at Candy Crush." Jimmy said without looking up.
I chuckled and went inside before closing the door behind me.
At first, I tried to figure out how this dress came off, but unless I pulled a Hendrix and ripped it off of my body, there was no removing it. There were no buttons, no zippers, and the fabric wasn't stretchy. The dryads must have a way to merge the dress over my body and unmerge it off, but I was too tired to take a trek to the woods and ask for help at the moment. Giving up, I slipped into my bed awkwardly and pulled up the blankets over my fully dressed form. I yawned and finally relaxed to sink down into the pillow and mattress. After a quick nap I can go to Cenderion to remove the gown.
It didn't take long for my mind to let go and drift to sleep.
I was running. Just running. I didn't know from what or who, but the desperate need to flee consumed everything. I tripped over obstacles and frantically climbed up impossibly steep hills. Each delay ramping up the panic as whatever I was running from would surely catch me at any moment. The time fluctuated between night and day, my location changing every other moment, but the fear of being caught constantly plagued me. When I felt arms grab me from behind, I screamed and struggled as everything started to fade and turn white.
"June! You're okay. I've got you." A familiar voice said in my ear, and the panic quickly flew away. I relaxed in the arms that held me. I fought to calm my hyperventilating and looked around to find I was in the white void. My dream space.
I turned around and smiled at who I thought was my captor. "Geralt."
Geralt calmly spun me around and his crimson eyes ran over my body and face. "Are you okay? What were you running from?" He asked.
I sighed and shook my head. "I don't know. It was just a stupid dream. Probably representing stress or some crap like that." I said.
"What about the kidnapping? I was too busy to check sooner, but I was sure you were still alive." Geralt's face grew serious and his eyes narrowed.
I reached up and stroked his cheek with my hand. "I'm okay. It was rather stupid actually. Just a vampire who was trying to manipulate the vampire that owns me. I wasn't harmed, and I was returned right away. I'm sorry I couldn't have told you sooner. I was trying to find your dream space again, but it was never there." I explained feeling the guilt of worrying Geralt like that.
