Chapter 40: The Sugar Plum Fairy

"When's uncle Yoomi coming?" Akira says to her older brother.

Semi looks down at the girl, she was pouting and holding his hands tight as they walked into the theatre.

"Sakusa is running a little late, Aki. He'll be here soon, can you be patient?"

Akira pouts with a sigh, "but Atsumu is going to perform soon... He's going to miss it."

Semi smiles a little at his sister, squeezing her hands with his he says, "I'll make sure he won't miss Atsumu's performance."

Suddenly, loud footsteps were heard and a heavy panting caught their attention.

When Akira looks away from her brother she immediately ran over to the panting boy who swoops her up in his arms despite how tired and stressed he was.

"Miss me, pumpkin?"

Akira squeals. "You made it, Yoomi!!" then hugging his neck.

Sakusa grins, "of course I made it. I was never going to be late in the first place." he says.

Semi smiles when he reaches them with Shirabu and his two younger brothers with them.

Sakusa looks over to them. "Were you guys waiting for me?"

Semi nods, observing him carefully with a raise brow.

"How did you get here on time?"

Sakusa shrugged, "I got a lift in Ushijima's tow truck."

Shirabu snickers, "Ushijima's tow truck, huh?"

Sakusa rolls his eyes at him.

"They're still finding parking right now." he says.

"Ah, that's why they aren't with you," Semi says.

"I'm so happy, Yoomi made it!" Akira says.

"Me too!" Shogo says going next to them.

Yusuke stayed by Semi's and Shirabu's side as he watched them.

When Sakusa noticed who wasn't there he says, "where's my cousin and Maru?"

"Oh, they're-"

"We're right here."

Komori was holding Maru in his arms as they came out from the theatre.

"Maru wants, Sakusa." Shirabu says when Maru was making grabby hands to him.

"Here, I'll take Akira from you," Semi says as he took a reluctant Akira off from Sakusa's arms.

Sakusa leaves a kiss on Akira's cheek, promising her that he'll hold her again when they go inside before he had Maru in his arms.

"Did he just wake up?" Sakusa asked.

Komori nods.

"Yeah. I just fed him his milk bottle not too long ago. And when he woke up he was fussing for you."

"Such a spoiled little baby, huh?" Sakusa said to Maru who was just happy to be in his arms.

"I think we should head inside, Goshiki and Hinata are already inside." Shirabu said.

The rest of the older boys agreed before something catches Sakusa's attention at the corner of his eyes.

Before he went inside the theatre he made eye contact with Benny who was about to go into the restroom. When they made eye contact Sakusa was scowling while Benny look away guilty.

"You okay, cousin?" Komori snaps him out of his thoughts.

Sakusa looks at him, "yeah." then going inside the theatre with Komori looking over to the restroom with an concern expression before being the last one to enter the theatre after his cousin.
