Xavier
"I miss you too," Calvin murmurs as I open my eyes and see Calvin talking in his sleep. A wave of relief washes over me, and I quickly hop out of bed. As I approach the bathroom, a sudden scream pierces the air. "My ears," I cry out, falling to the floor in pain. "Let go of me," Calvin screams, his voice filled with terror. I struggle to get up, finally standing and rushing back to Calvin's side. "Calvin, wake up," I plead, shaking him until he finally stirs.
"What's going on?" he asks groggily. "You didn't hear that?" I ask, still shaken from the scream. "Hear what?" he replies, looking confused. "It's nothing," I dismiss, not wanting to worry him. But then I feel something warm and sticky on my finger. "Oh no, Xavier, your nose is bleeding," Calvin exclaims, concern etched on his face.
"It's okay," I try to reassure him, but he insists on helping me clean up. "No, let me clean it up. Follow me," Calvin demands, leading me to the kitchen sink. He tells me to pinch my nose and lean forward, instructing me to hold it for ten minutes with my mouth open. I do as he says, my nose tilted into the sink.
After ten minutes, Calvin checks on me. "Did the bleeding stop?" he asks, his eyes filled with worry. "Yes," I reply, grateful for his care. "Now that's my baby," he says, kissing me gently on the forehead.
As we settle back into bed, I find it difficult to fall back asleep. I can't shake off the feeling of unease. So I wait until Calvin is fast asleep before letting myself doze off. I just want to make sure he's alright because whatever dream he had must have been truly terrifying for him to scream like that.
As the day progressed, my concerns about last night's events grew, and I knew I had to dig deeper into the situation. I contacted my Uncle Trent, my go-to expert, for anything unusual.
Our phone conversation went like this:
Me: Uncle Trent, his scream was so loud, it caused a nosebleed, and my ears are still ringing.
Uncle Trent: What? How loud was it?
Me: It was enough to wake up the entire neighborhood.
Uncle Trent: Something doesn't feel right about this.
Me: Do you have a suspicion?
Uncle Trent: Yes, but let me know if anything else happens.
Me: I will, thank you.
After our call, I tossed my phone onto my bed and headed to the kitchen. As I opened the fridge for a water bottle, my phone rang again. I saw it was Calvin and answered immediately.
Me: Hello?
Calvin: Xavier.
Me: Yes, baby?
Calvin: Xavier.
Me: What's wrong, my angel?
The call abruptly ended, leaving me worried. I grabbed my keys and rushed to Calvin's apartment. As soon as I unlocked the door, I found him lying unconscious on the floor near his bed. "Calvin!" I yelled, racing to his side. I helped him up and laid him down on his bed. "Calvin," I say, but Calvin doesn't respond, "Calvin," I contacted him again, but still no response. I sit down next to Calvin, brushing my hand through his hair. As I hope Calvin is awake, my phone rings. I grab my phone out of my pocket to see my Uncle calling again
"Yes, Uncle Trent contacted." "I just called to see if everything was alright. I had a vision." My Uncle Trent's power is to see the future. "Something bad is going to happen. I couldn't make out my vision well. But all I know is something bad will happen". Wait, to whom? "I don't. All I know is something bad will happen."

All day, my Uncle Trent's words had me on edge. "Xavier," a voice called out, snapping me out of my dream. "Xavier," the voice repeated, and I jolted awake. "Yes?" I asked, my voice trembling. "Are you okay?" Tyler asked. "I'm fine," I replied, trying to sound confident. "You don't look fine," Mark added. "I'm fine," I repeated, trying to convince myself more than anyone else. I quickly packed up my backpack and grabbed my jacket. "I have to go," I said, my voice shaking."Xavier, don't go," Tyler pleaded. "As your best friends, we just wanted to check on you." I sat back down, my stomach rumbling. I searched my backpack for blood pouches but came up empty. The smell of blood was in the air, and I could feel my nose tightening. I needed to feed and fast. "Xavier, are you sure you're okay?" Tyler asked again. "Yeah," I lied, my eyes starting to turn yellow. "Xavier," a voice said, and I turned to see Calvin and Cody walking towards us. "What are you doing here?" I asked, my voice betraying my fear.
"Cody and I were just grabbing lunch," Calvin replied. "Can we sit with you guys?" Cody asked, smiling. "Sure," Tyler said, welcoming them to our table. But Calvin could tell something was wrong. He walked closer to me and whispered, "Are you okay?" "No," I admitted. "Just follow me," he said, leading me away from the group. Confused, I followed him down the street and into an alleyway.
"Did you forget to feed today?" Calvin asked, concern in his voice. "No," I lied, feeling guilty. "Don't lie to me," he said, his voice firm. "Yes," I finally admitted. Calvin leaned closer to me. "Here," he said, offering his neck. "What? I could never feed on a human," I protested. "But aren't you hungry?" Calvin asked, understanding. "Yes, but what if I hurt you? I could never live with myself," I said, panic rising.
"It's okay, Xavier," Calvin reassured me. "I know you won't hurt me." He took my hand in his, and I felt a sense of calm wash over me. "Okay, I'll do it," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. Calvin nodded, and I leaned in, my fangs appearing. My eyes turned yellow, and I hesitated momentarily before sinking my fangs into Calvin's neck. He wrapped his arm around my waist, and I could feel his blood coursing through my veins.
After a few minutes, I pulled away, my eyes returning to their natural green color. "I'm sorry," I said, feeling ashamed. "Don't be," Calvin said, smiling. "If you like, you can feed on my neck anytime," I say. Calvin laughed, relieved by my understanding. "Deal," he said, be grateful for his love and trust. "But promise me we'll never do this again," I added, my tone serious. "I promise," Calvin said, and I knew he meant it.
I helped Calvin back to our friends' table, and Mark immediately noticed the mark on his neck. "What is that?" he asked, pointing. "On your neck?" "What are you talking about?" Calvin asked, confused. "That hickey," Mark said, smirking. "To a human, vampire bites look like just a hickey," "That's a hickey alright" Cody added, giving us the evil eye.
"Hey, Xavier" he said, with voice bubbling with excitement. "I have a great idea for what I should order, daddy! he whisper the last part. But before he could even finish his sentence, I caught on. "What did you just say?" I asked, a playful smirk on his face appears. "Oh, nothing," he quickly replied, trying to play it off cool. But I knew him too well. "Now you know I heard you," I said with a sly smile. Just then, Tyler joined in on the conversation, asking if I had said anything. "No," I replied with a smile.
As Calvin and Cody ordered their meals, my friends and I chatted and laughed. When their food arrived, I couldn't help but eye Calvin's fries. They looked so delicious. I couldn't resist sneaking a few when his plate was placed on the table. "Xavier," Calvin groaned, catching me in the act. "I didn't do anything!" I protested, holding my hands up in surrender. "I saw you," he said, playfully scolding me. "Xavier, leave Calvin alone," Mark chimed in. "Hey, he's my boyfriend," I groaned, sticking my tongue out at Mark. But he had a point - I had said no when Calvin asked if I wanted any fries.
While my friends and I were engrossed in our own conversations, I couldn't help but notice Tyler and Cody hitting it off. "I see Tyler and Cody are getting along very well," I whispered to Calvin. "I know, I've never seen anyone make Cody smile like that before," he replied, a hint of awe in his voice. Calvin, Mark, and I all gave each other a look. "I have to make a phone call," Mark suddenly said, excusing himself from the table. "I have to use the restroom," I quickly added, wanting to give Cody and Tyler some privacy. "Me too," Xavier chimed in, following me inside the restaurant. We left Cody and Tyler to get to know each other, while we took a our so called pee break. Mark walked down the street with his phone to his ear, and I couldn't help but wonder who he was talking to.
I really did have pee, so I ask a cashier behind the counter where the restroom is. The cashier directed me where to go, I follow the man directions and walk into the men's restroom. Calvin follow behind me the restroom was empty. I use the restroom while Calvin stood by the sink. Once done, Calvin and I headed back outside to hear Cody laughing.
What took yall so long ? Tyler ask "I can't pee in peace" I reply "woah, okay I just ask" Tyler says. We sit back down.
