Few days after our meeting, as Laura had a semester break, she had the opportunity to see her family again. This time she had to return to her home country. She packed everything in her briefcase and left it in our bedroom until the day came.
On a Friday, Laura and I had a cultural event where everyone dressed in his own traditional clothes representing his country, and not only that, we planned a lot of activities to do, such as general culture through quizzes, traditional games and many others.
Upon the same day, we had elections for our study field society, we elected the president, two vice presidents, head of secretary, head of events, and finally head of treasury. Laura and I were very concerned about her getting a vice president position, for our stress was extreme the whole time, and only after declaration of the seats we could feel reassured. During the election for presidency, there were two people competing, while for vice presidency, four, and among those was Laura. I had five people on my side voting for her for our own interest, and the rest of the participants for me did not really matter that much.
When time for the announcement came, every person nominated was going through an anxious situation, especially for vice presidency, as there was a problem with equal voting for two people, and one of them was Laura! They went through a reelection once again, and everyone was looking with attention at the woman responsible for the positions once again.
-“ Laura for vice presidency!” stated the election official.
Laura was happy about that and so was I, I looked at her the moment her name was called and raised my thumb as a sign of her doing great in this round. A while later, when the event was finished, we celebrated her win in the proper way.
The night was spent in a huge hotel located in the mountains, we had everything set in our room, even dinner was prepared uniquely for us in the hotel’s restaurant. It was like an antique palace, full of golden furniture and classy objects. The plates were served in a very gentle way that waiters were surrounding us from all sides, each standing five feet away from our table, ready to serve at any moment we decide or say.
-“ this makes me feel like a real vice president” she said
-“ you are a real president my dear” I assured “you will become a leader of an organization later, maybe a government”
-“ you make me feel excited about my future when you say that”
-“ well beautiful, I’m talking facts here, you are capable of that”.

That moment, that talk was our last to say, we never knew what would be next. I suffered her absence already when I saw her leaving the door house, it was a brutal pain in my chest, and it couldn't end differently, and just like every time, a tight hug covered our imagined bruises.
