On a Saturday morning, Laura was very angry on the phone, she was in the living room while I was still sleeping in the bedroom. I went to check on her, and she was louder. In a moment, she threw her phone to the ground, broke it and kicked it to the wall. She stood with eyes closed, tears running through her face, and no word could come out of her. Full of rage, she walked to the door hall, she wore her shoes without having a look at me, then finally quit the house. I followed her disappointed about what just happened, I walked as fast as I could without having her notice, I didn’t know where she was heading but i sensed that something bad was about to occur. I went on spying on her until she got stuck between a huge crowd where she suddenly disappeared. More and more people were moving around, it was in the middle of the street, I tried to seek for Laura but she was out of my sight. As I got closer, I saw Laura on the floor, bleeding and she couldn’t move at all, I got frightened and didn’t know what to do.
“Laura!” I screamed from my lungs breathing heavily and looked around me, people were taking pictures of us while I had her injured head in my arms with so much blood.
“call an ambulance” whispered someone in the back as I was crying over the girl.
“What are you looking at! Call an ambulance, she’s dying!” I yelled as loud as I could, losing my temper still carrying the girl to my chest with both hands. I felt a strong pressure on my heart that I could barely breathe.
“Laura, please” I repeated mumbling looking at her eyes slowly blinking.
“stay with me Laura, alright? They’re coming for you”
Her skin was becoming paler or probably greyer, her sleepy eyes almost closed, and I suffered pure anxiety at that moment. I was afraid when she couldn’t talk back, her cold body was scaring me above all, and I saw a horrible good bye in those eyes that would never bounce back to life.
“where are they!” I screamed as I waited for long.
The whole crowd kept quiet, until suddenly a man came up to me in a rush, opening some space for himself to go through. He pointed at the back asking me to join him with Laura to his vehicle to get her to the nearest hospital. I carried her to the car, keeping her in my arms sitting in the back seats so I could make sure she was still conscious.
“Laura” I whispered as I caressed her cheeks with my hand. “we’re going to save your life okay?”
“Laura?” I spoke aloud “Laura please say something, Laura please”.
Along the way, I felt her hands getting colder as I was holding them, her eyes were closed and her face still pale, I felt depressed about what could happen next, my body was shaking, and I went on crying and crying. The driver tried to reassure me but I couldn’t cover what my eyes could see, all I could wish for was a miracle for her to survive, hoping that she comes back home alive.
