|Ch. 4, innocence|

FOR THE FIRST TIME, Dawn woke up feeling like she had a chance. And yet, the weather seemed against it. As the young girl looked out of the window placed in the large apartment, footsteps approached her. She didn't have to look to know who it was. "You need your beauty rest." The voice said from beside her. Adam stood looking out the window as well, dressed in loose fitted clothes.

"I could say the same about you." Dawn turned her head to face towards the boy. He had a solem look on his face with a smile that didnt quite reach his eyes. "What's wrong?"

Adam only scoffed and changed his expression. "I can't believe you just asked me that." Dawn only shrugged her shoulders, not wanting him to be irritated with her. Adam stared at the young girl, he thought about how her eyes trailed the buildings outside. Or how the sun turned her eyes amber instead of the deep brown. The boy sighs, "For whatever reason, I don't feel angry," Dawn turns her attention to the boy as he takes a seat on the floor, Dawn following his lead. "I didn't feel anything when I got reaped, I don't think I feel anything now. Dawn, I'm not going to make it out alive."

Adam moved his head to face her. The girls eyes searched his for anything she could find, Dawn didn't find anything. "Don't say that. You have a better chance than me and we both know that."

He only shook his head. "No, you know that, and you're wrong. Dawn, You foreign innocence, you've practically already won the games. No one wants to see Dawn, the innocent girl from district eleven, die. You have won the Capitols hearts."

"Adam–" Her voice cracked as someone interrupted her.

"I told you guys to rest up, not have a crying session." Bennett said as he raided the kitchen cabinets. Adam was the first one to get up and head towards their mentor. Dawn stayed, silent tears streaking down her cheeks as she thought of her family back home. Her mother told her to come home, so that's what she's going to do.

Dawn soon found herself in a room with Andromeda. The woman was running around like crazy trying to find something. The young girl spun around in her chair to face her stylist. "Everything okay?" She questioned.

The woman whirled around with a dress in her arms and a smile. "Everything's perfect!" She said cheerfully as she sat the dress down on the counter in front of Dawn.
