Heroic spirits, heroes who have legends derived from great deeds they achieved in life. Cementing themselves in history of the world. Although this applies to most there are some exceptions to this rule.
Alters are all heroic spirits that are different from the norm. Alter's differ from the normal legend of a heroic spirit. They are considered to be a much more darker version of the original.
The same heroic spirit can have different versions of themselves recorded from in the throne of heroes. An example being Artoria pendragon, who has many versions of themselves. Many in varying classes such as archer, caster, lancer, berserker, rider, assassin and Saber.
One such version of Artoria pendragon is Saber lily. A younger version of Artoria pendragon who is just at the beginning of their journey. She is a much more positive version compared to the original Artoria pendragon.
Touma is running as quick as he can. He dashes through alleyway after alleyway. A green beam pierces through the concrete. With a smack of his right hand the beam ceases to exist.
Although Touma has apologised to the woman for accidently tripping on her, she instead not only didn't accept the apology but attacked him instead. Even after negating the attack the woman refuse to give up until she has his blood. She might even be more stubborn then the bug zapper.
"Get back here you bastard," Mugino shouts as she grits her teeth. Struggling to aim at Touma due to hid immense knowledge of alleyways. Mugino starts rapidly firing at Kamijou in multiple directions. Managing to evade the beams and intercept her attacks. Touma thinks of confronting her head on.
Before he could continue evaluating his options a stinging sensation courses through his left hand. Checking to see his left hand hand Touma sees a weird red symbol appear.
A green beam pierces through the confines of the alleyway. Before Touma can react a bright light shines beyond him. A sword clashes with the Meltdowners.
In front of Touma very eyes a girl with yellow bright hair and armour appears in front of him. Touma could not help, but think of her as some sort of innocent angel.
"Are you my master?," she asks Touma while making eye contact with him. For a second Touma is speechless did the girl really call him master. Tsuchimikado and Aogami would purge him if they ever hear this. He can almost hear them calling him a traitor with the most jealous and dramatic expression.
"Let us chat later Master there is an enemy I need to subdue." Saber Lily replies with haste after blocking the beam Saber Lily readied her stance as she views the enemy in front of her.
Mugino manages to catch up and overhear the earlier conversation. With an expression of disgust Mugino swears to eliminate that pervert. For some reason Touma feels as if a part of his self esteem has been shattered.
"I swear that I will end you and your perverted blond girlfriend!! you bastard!!." Mugino shouts seething with rage. She grits her hand and aims her Meltdowner towards the girl with the sword.
"Wh-What!! who are you calling a pervert, I am a knight in training mind you". Saber retorts indignantly with a flush on her.
"A knight!! what kind of fucking role play are you guys doing. Dammit enough of this." Her right eye twitches as she fires of a Meltdowner at the self-proclaimed knight. With a swing of her sword Saber lily cleaves through the beam. The knight dashes towards Mugino at speeds beyond that of sound.
Not being able to react in time Saber Lily punches Mugino's stomach with enough force to knock get out cold. Saber lily places a finger on Mugino's wrist to check for a pulse. She sighs in relief to as she feels a beat.
" have managed to win this fight although I still have a lot to learn with that being said I hope that my performance is acceptable master."She smiles at Touma, her hand fidgets. Touma blankly stares at Saber Lily.
"My bad master, I am a Saber class servant master, I am a bit unsure of how you summoned me as there doesn't seem to be a war to be fought." Saber Lily questions her master, with a tilt of her head.
"Please don't call me master!! my reputation is already down the drain I can't imagine what Index would do if she were to hear me. This Kamijou cannot be known as a person with some sort of master fetish. I don't even want to know what Fukiyose would do to me once I get back to school. Just call me Touma please." Touma says, frowning miserably as he shakes his head.
"Apologies master.. I mean Touma" Saber lily hesitates to say anything more not knowing how to respond to his extreme reaction.
"Wait are you some sort of magician? and why are you calling me master in the first place?". Touma asks with a hint of caution.
"Well no, I am a servant a copy of a heroic spirit a being who is recorded in the throne of heroes. We can be summoned for a holy grail war or due to some unusual circumstances." Saber lily, her smile wavers a little.
"To be Summoned a holy grail must be present or something equal to that due to the large amount of mana required to summon a servant. A master is then selected as the anchor, for the servant to be summoned. Masters as proof have red seals on their hand called command spells. Masters are able to use them to give their servants three absolute commands they must follow." Saber lily finishes her explanation.
Touma, had some rough idea about what is going on. Although just Lily magic he feels like his missing more important details.
"Wait does that mean that, your forced to follow my commands because of these command spells." Touma asks as his face scrunches up. Power like that over someone is dangerous.
"Yes but don't worry to much about that master command spells can be used to give a boosts to servants powers or call for them for help." Saber Lily replies. She doesn't seem to see anything wrong with that which bothers Touma a bit.
"I see so... is this some limited time thing or will you disappear after some time?." Touma questions in worry
"Well... I won't deny that that might happen usually a servant is with their master for a limited time only. Typically after the war, or after fulfilling their purpose. The only thing that's keeping us in this world is the master servant contract along with the mana supply we receive through the contract ."Saber lily responds, with a sad smile. Touma frowns in response to this, from how she describes them they seem more like tools.
"There is no need to worry Touma, I will try my best to protect you. Even though I'm not as great as other servants."Saber lily trues to reassure Touma with a smile. Touma however isn't having that.
With a sigh Touma walks to Saber lily, he then leans in close towards her. Their eyes meet each other. Nervously Saber lily tries to move away. Touma grips her shoulder preventing her from moving away.
"Saber I'm not sure why you seem unconfident with your abilities. I mean you have knocked out that girl with deadly lasers who I struggled to deal with so your pretty strong to me. All I'm worried about is how your going to disappear. From the looks of it... it sounds more like your not going be seen ever again. I'm not that good with magic but I'm sure that Index can find a solution. If we can't find a solution... I will try to make you happy at the very least." Touma says as he looks at her in the eye. His grip on her softens.
Saber lily freezes at that, she didn't expect her master to say something that genuine to her. She could see the determination being he conveys through his eyes.
"Thank you for your kind sincere words Touma." Saber lily says with a genuine smile. A smile as gentle as a warm breeze.
That smile is enough to make Touma happy. Seeing the people around him joyful and jolly is all he needs. He will protect those smiles... even if he has to go through hell to do so.
