Chapter 14.

I wake up the next day and I just feel like I've been run over by a truck. I turn around, seeing that I'm in a different house, once again. But this time, I remember. Colby's house. Am I in his room?
I hear the shower water on from the bathroom across from me. That's something I really want right now. A nice steamy shower. I stretch out and sigh. My heart flutters as I remember yesterday. Colby was so sweet, it was so nice seeing that side of him.
Next minute, I hear the shower water turn off. I jump out of bed wondering what I should do right now. I can't be seen in his bed like this. I need to do something so I don't look lazy. I decided to re-make his bed so he wouldn't have to. It would also prevent anything from being awkward between Colby and I...I hope.
"You don't have to do that."
"It's my pleasure." I respond, giving him a quick look then back to what I was doing.
I give another quick look as I realised he was only in a towel. The towel covered his member but not enough. I could see his V-line, his abs. He is so beautiful. I caught myself staring and cleared my throat.
I hear my phone chime so I quickly look to see who messaged me. Another chime went off, then kept going and going. Roni. She then started calling as I wasn't quick enough to respond to her messages.
"Hey, Roni."
"Where the fuck are you? I've been absolutely worried and I-"
"Roni, I'm fine. Trust me." I say, cutting her off. "Where are you?" She continues to ask. I look at my boss who just walked in the room completely clothed. We both look at each other. He stood there like he was trying to eavesdrop on my conversation. Then I looked away. "I'm at work." I lied.
"No. Where have you been all night? You were at that party and never came back home. Did something happen to you?" She cried out.
"I'll explain later when I come home after work okay? I'm just...very busy." I lied, once again. God I hate lying to her. "I just want to make sure you're okay. You know this."
"Yeah I know...listen, I gotta go, okay? Talk later." I say trying to end the convo as I wanted. "Love you."
"I love you too." The call ended. And I sighed. "Everything okay?" Colby asked. "Yeah. It was my best friend." I replied back.
"You lied to her." He chuckled which caused me to look at him. "Look, she doesn't know...anything..about you and I. I-I don't know what she would do if she found out. She's one to sus everything out." I mentioned as I put on my shoes.
"She seemed very worried about you."
"She always is." I replied. It was quiet. So quiet I could hear my own heart pump. Until finally, he spoke. "I'll see you at work." He said then walked off.

"How did they get through our system?" I asked while looking onto my computer. "I don't know. No one knows anything. Mr Banks is pissed about it." Caleb replied. "Who wouldn't? Whoever did this clearly has something against this company. It has to be someone that works with us." I explained.
"Do you reckon it's got something to do with alliancing with Mr Wayne?" Caleb asked. He might have a point. We did just alliance with them, maybe they hacked our system. "I don't know. No one else knows how to get in the system. Not even Mr Banks knows. Only those who actually run it."
Yeah it's strange...."
"I'll see Mr Banks about it, he might be able to inform me on what's going on." I mention, fixing myself up as I stood up from my seat. "Do you think he has all the details?"
"That's why I'm gonna go see him. I'll talk to you later." I mentioned then walked out my office, leaving Caleb behind.
I walked over to Colby's office but I stood where I was and didn't enter. I should knock instead but I could hear him yelling at someone in there. Maybe I should come back later. "Of course I fucking checked the cameras. No one's coming in here like James Bond and raiding my desk. The designs leaked from our fucking servers. Fix it!" I hear Colby scream out. I knock once I hear silence.
"Yeah." He said, coldly.
I walk in, now noticing Colby's head facing down at his desk. His hands covering his face. Do I say something? Yeah, that's why you came in here.
"Are you okay?" I asked without thinking. "No." He bluntly replied. That left a sharp burn in my chest. "I heard what happened. Don't know who did it?" I asked as I took a seat at his desk. All he does is sigh, loudly. "Is there something I could do about it?"
"There's nothing we can do." He replied, lifting his head up but not enough to create eye contact. His voice is so cold, it gives me shivers down my spine.
"Has to have been someone that knows the security password. Someone that works within this building." I mention, giving him ideas. Once again, he didn't say a word. "Do you want me to get you anything?"
"No." Was his response. I didn't know what to say to him. He's got such a hard head to deal with. I understand he's mad about someone stealing ours designs, I shouldn't be in here making him stress even more. "If you need me, contact me. If there's anything I can do for you, I'll do it. In the mean time, I'll try figure out what happened." Was all I said but Colby still kept his head down and didn't say a word.
I've never seen him this mad. I left his office without saying anything else. How could this day turn out like this? It was great, kind of. Until this bullshit happened.
