SANDWaking up feeling refreshed is an incredible sensation. I sense the surge of energy coursing through my body. It took me a while to realize there was a comforting weight snuggled up to my right side, and as I glanced down, I saw Longtae peacefully asleep, his hands and legs draped over me. I couldn't help but smile at how adorable he looked and how wonderful it felt to wake up beside someone I love. I never thought it was possible again, but Longtae made it so. This sweet, innocent-faced boy seems capable of achieving anything he sets his mind to.
A faint knock on the door finally penetrated my still drowsy mind. I slowly extricated myself from Longtae's warmth to answer it, concerned that the persistent knocking might wake him up.
Padding barefoot towards the door, I realized I was shirtless. When did I take it off? Probably due to feeling too warm during the night. Despite the inconvenience, I decided to open the door since the knocking showed no signs of stopping.
"Are you sick, Tae? I've been messaging you since yesterday, and you haven't responded at all. I'm worried...," a man, likely in his late twenties, stood at the door, initially not looking up. When he did, realizing it wasn't Longtae, his words trailed off.
"Who?" the boy appeared confused, slightly shorter than Tae and wearing glasses.
I ran my hand through my hair in an attempt to tidy it and said, "Hi, Tae is still asleep. I'm Sand. Would you like to come in? I'll go get Tae."
"I'm Phiphu, I live a few doors down. I've never seen you before," the boy scrutinized me, his gaze not very subtle.
"I've just returned to Bangkok after three years," I smiled, not wanting to offend the shorter guy, especially if he's Tae's friend. He seemed fixated on my exposed abs, almost prompting me to raise my eyebrows at his curiosity. "I'm Tae's boyfriend. How do you know Tae?" I inquired, heading towards the coffeemaker.
"Boyfriend?! But... but..." his eyes widened behind his glasses, clearly taken aback.
Completing the coffee preparations and turning on the machine, I turned back to the boy, examining his face now.
"Are you alright? Yes, I'm his boyfriend," reiterating the information, as I suspected why the boy seemed flustered.
"Let me go wake Tae and put on a shirt. Please, make yourself comfortable," I gestured towards the couch, where he stiffly sat down.
As if on cue, Longtae, tousled hair and all, sleepily made his way towards the kitchen.
"Hey Baby, good morning!" I warmly greeted Longtae, who hadn't noticed his early morning visitor.
"Hi! I was wondering where you were!" He wrapped his arm around my waist, leaning in to kiss my lips. "Good Morning," he sweetly greeted me.
Gently cupping his cheeks, I grinned, "Are you awake now? You have a guest, babe," indicating his friend, whose jaw might've hit the floor witnessing that early display of affection from Longtae. "I'll go put on a shirt," I announced, pushing off the counter after ensuring Longtae could stand unaided and kissing his cheeks.
Even while I was in the room retrieving my phone and shirt, I could hear the conversation outside, as the door was left open.
"Why are you here so early, Phip? Do you need something?" Tae asked his guest.
"Uh... I messaged you yesterday morning, and you didn't reply until today. I got worried, so I wanted to check," the shorter boy explained.
"Oh... I didn't have time for breakfast yesterday, so I didn't want to bother you about it," Tae replied casually.
