Chapter 12 - Sport Festival: Obstacle Course

"Please don't get hurt, you two," Inko said with a mix of concern and encouragement as you and Izuku grabbed your bags, preparing for the upcoming days. Time flew by, and the highly anticipated sports festival had finally arrived.

"We won't," Izuku assured, and you jumped a bit at the sudden response, adjusting your tie. "Do your best," Inko smiled warmly, her motherly affection evident in her gaze. The two of you reciprocated with smiles, ready and determined.

"Bye, Mom!" Izuku called out.

"Goodbye, Inko!" you added, and with that, you both set off, fueled by a mixture of excitement and determination to give your best performance in the sports festival. The words of encouragement from your respective mothers echoing in your minds as you embarked on this challenging yet thrilling endeavor.

Amidst the bustling atmosphere of the sports festival preparations, Ashido whined about not being able to wear her costume. As you and Mojito put your things in the lockers, Izuku shared a perspective, "Well, it's a good thing because we want it to be fair for others, right?"

"That is fair. Not everyone was lucky to be in the hero course, remember? Just as long as we work hard, we'll soon wear our costumes after graduating," you chimed in. Mina smiled, her cheeks slightly pinker. "You're right, Y/N. Let's give it our best!" She fist-pumped the air, and you smiled, taking a moment to wait.

However, the light-hearted atmosphere shifted as Shoto approached Izuku. "Midoriya," he said in a monotone voice, a peculiar emotion in his eyes. "From looking at things objectively, it's clear that I'm stronger than you."

"Yeah, I guess," Izuku replied, and Suzaku looked down, a sense of sadness lingering. Something flashed in your mind, a realization about Izuku and All Might that you hadn't shared with him. Before you could speak, Shoto continued, "But All Might has his eyes on you, doesn't he?"

Tension filled the air, and something seemed to freeze within Izuku. "Todoroki, I—" he began.

"I'm not going to pry it off you, but do know that I'll beat you," Shoto declared. The atmosphere grew more intense until he turned his attention to you. "And L/N, just because you're known as the dinosaur hero doesn't mean you're above me in strength. You're hiding something from us, and I'll throw you off the hero name."

Your tail lashed, and your fangs grazed your lips. "I'm no hero," you declared, and your red eyes flashed with indomitable spirit as you growled. "And you may be stronger, but don't go around thinking that you can push everyone around. Also, I might not want to be a hero, but everyone else does. They'll fight for the top." Smirking, you flicked your tail to indicate the heroes in the room. "And please," you leaned in, your breath brushing against his cheek, "you're not stronger than a dinosaur, Todoroki. I'll kill you in my sleep. Do not underestimate the power of a hybrid made for the kill."

Leaning back, you gave a small, false smile before Present Mic's voice echoed through the speakers. "Hello there, listeners! The sports festival is about to begin. Get ready!" You snarled, commenting on his loudness, and then added, "Hells, he's too loud for his own good."

"Look alive, everyone! Let's go!"

"Hey, everyone! Welcome to the annual UA Sports Festival! Are you ready?!" The exuberant voice of the announcer, likely Present Mic, echoed through the stadium, stirring cheers from the crowd. Ochaco whispered to you, "Come on, Izuku, Y/N," a subtle encouragement as you prepared to make your entrance.
