5 years later

(my very last major time jump)

As the sunset casted an orangish redish hue through the palm trees into the floor to ceiling windows as I stood in the kitchen loading the dishwasher staring at my twins play in the backyard of the new house Derrick bought a little over a year ago...

These past five years have been a roller coaster of ups and downs for our family.

Maya went into remission after 5 months of treatment. Due to her chemotherapy and current medications we have to watch her activity. She can't overwhelm herself. But overall she is a very happy and healthy kid. The twins are now 8, in the third grade, Melody is doing cheer and Maya is doing pageants, and becoming their own individual independent person every day.

The time Ryan took off from work was impactful to our relationship and his relationship with his kids. Our relationship improved so much we went and got married and a year later. Shortly after that I was pregnant again this time with a boy, Ryan Jr., who is now 4 years old and full of personality. Ryan even got me a fully decked out brand new off the lot Chevy Tahoe for my push gift. We call it my mommy mobile. It was waiting in the driveway when we came home from the hospital.

Now you may say that life is all peaches and cream. Healthy and happy kids. Gorgeous house. Amazing husband. What more could a woman ask for. Here's some of the issues that comes with this fabulous life. We now have a mortgage and all the expenses that come with owning a house, private school tuition for all three kids, cheerleading for Melody, pageants for the Maya, two car payments. Which means Ryan is at work 24/7. Starts his day at 7 AM and doesn't come home till 7 almost 8 PM. I don't have time to myself because my kids need me and I'm not going to ignore them. I clean, cook and take care of the kids by myself 90 percent of the time.
