"The guild sent me with the squad, so that I could contact you straight away. As you know, you have already taken on the duty of watching the forest. We are also very grateful for your services in this regard - be it the goblins that you discovered before us or most recently the goblin giant that penetrated into the monster back. If he had gotten to the villages around Wachstadt, there would certainly have been many deaths. It is unfortunate that we lost a control group. We underestimated the situation and therefore did not exercise the necessary caution. The prince is therefore quite angry with us and accuses us of not fulfilling our task. In his opinion, the goblin nest, which now has to be removed at great expense, should never have become so large.

It's just that our means are difficult to implement remotely. Since you have proven yourself so well so far, we want to expand our collaboration with you. Would you be willing to become an outpost for the guild?"

"What would that mean?"

"As an outpost of the guild, you would have more rights. This way you could confirm, that orders have been fulfilled. Adventurers then don't have to bring their evidence to us, which means we can also award larger orders. You can also give orders yourself, that serve to observe the forest or to eliminate immediate threats to Wachstadt. Order creation by others is still only possible with us in Wachstadt. We will continue to issue the reward in the same way. We would also maintain closer contact with you, to share the information we collect more quickly."

"Sounds to me like only you guys will benefit from this. I don't need any jobs paid by the guild."

"Ah, of course, but you want to build a inn, don't you? And with all due respect, this cave seems to be holding you back more than helping you. As an outpost, you are also responsible for the accommodation, care and treatment of adventurers. Accommodation not only includes a bed, but also the fact that they can store things here if, for example, they don't want to carry everything into the forest or they just want to come back later and don't want to transport it between you and the city every time. This requires a lot of space. Admittedly, you've been in a good position with the cave so far and can certainly create more space for the necessary things, but others don't have that luxury. Therefore, we would help you build a house above that meets our criteria as an outpost. I think the responsibilities mentioned are very similar to a inn, wouldn't that also be in your interest?"

"A house? Hmm, it's not something that can be built quickly and it costs a lot. What does this help look like?"

"We would send craftsmen over to build it for you. We would advance you the money for this and you can pay it back slowly."

"But my income is anything but reliable. You said, that I should also feed and accommodate the adventurers. Shall they get it for free?"

"No no. Of course not. The adventurers will of course pay for food and accommodation. We will also permanently station squads with you as needed, then the guild will pay for their stay."

"Let's say, I paid off the house. Then my only advantage from the deal would be, that you often send adventurers to me who bring me money. Also I don't know, how long I would be in your debt."

"Of course you also get paid for your work. We would only withhold this as security, until the debts are paid off."

"So if I'm late, someone nice like last time will come over again?"

"Ah, our deepest regrets regarding the suspicion of espionage. The guild tried to make it as pleasant as possible for you and asks for your understanding, that our hands were somewhat tied in this case. If you fall behind, we have your wages as security, as I said. So it only becomes critical, when you no longer fulfill your tasks."

"Why do you really want me to do it? Wouldn't it be better to use someone you've worked with for a long time? Aron seems very reliable to me."

"Aron's team is indeed very talented, but that's exactly why we need him elsewhere. Permanent stationing here would not be in our interest. As I said, you've done a good job so far, so why not trust you to keep doing it?"

"Why the rush? Once the goblin nest has been removed, there should be peace for now."

"As you said, building a house like this takes a while. We want to be finished before the onset of winter. As soon as he comes, no more transport will be possible and the annual purge will take place in the spring."

"Annual purge?"

"In winter it is not possible to send someone over. You too will probably be stuck here and won't be able to kill any monsters in the forest. This is why they are spreading uncontrollably during this time. To ensure that no incidents occur when the snow is gone and the paths are clear, a big event is organized every year in which many monsters are hunted. It would be good if the outpost was already in place and the first supply chains were established. What we're doing now works so well because we have the prince behind us. Otherwise it would be a lot more difficult to get merchants here."

"I understand, but how quickly will traders get on the move."

"It's hard to say, but where they smell profit, they're usually not far away. At the beginning the guild will supply you. We would also buy monster parts from you. The ban on sales remains in effect for you, but you could still get a little extra income from us."

"That's a lot of change that's going to come with this."

"It's not a small action for us either, but we think it's the best for everyone."

"When do you need a decision from me?"

"It's enough if you thought about it by the time we leave. I would just write down the contract details and the guild will work it out. Since this is a big event in the principality, we will also need the prince's blessing beforehand. But I don't think he'll reject it."
