Walking into my home, I drop the bag I was carrying on the couch in the livingroom as my mother walked in shortly after, looking around her old home.
"Then uno change up tho.." I hear her say, putting down my other bag beside the one I placed down.
"Ahh, mi baby!" I hear Tey scream excitedly, bolting from the hallway where our bedrooms were.
Embracing me in a tight hug, almost knocking me over, I laugh hugging her back. "Yuh extra enuh likkle girl".
"Doh tell me that.. the most I've gone without seeing you is a day. Yuh gone fi almost a week and mi nearly mad" she hugged me impossibly tighter, seeming like she was trying to get into my skin.
Feeling something wet where her face was pressed up, my eyebrows scrunched together.
"Teyanna, are you crying?" I ask, a sniffle leaving her right after.
"Mi just did miss yuh.. swear mi couldn't function" she pulled away and i pout, pulling her in for another hug after seeing she was crying.
She likkle bit and unserious essi, but mi love her.
"Uno fava two pigeon" I hear my mother laugh, the hug parting after a few seconds and Tey looked at her while wiping away her tears.
"Then yuh couldn't see the weight a foreign a gi weh and leff it?" she ask, mommy playfully rolling her eyes while pulling her into a hug.
"Wahm mi favorite stepdaughter?"
"Yuh have more weh mi nuh know bout?" Tey lifted her head to look at her confused and I laugh.
She know Tey will mash her up fi try replace her enuh.
"Knowing yuh father, maybe.. uno goodly have couple brothers and sisters a road" she answers.
"Yah go leff mi fada alone enuh" Tey pulled away from the hug while smiling.
"Weh him deh?" she asked looking around, Tey moving over to my bags, opening them. We know he's here because his car is parked in the driveway.
"In his room.." she answered, mommy not saying anything and walking in that direction.
She like problem enuh. Nah really look pon dem.
"Yuh nuh bring back nuttn fi me?"
"Yeah. Me.."
"That coulda stay" she brushed me off, closing the bags making me laugh.
