3rd person pov:

"Now how do we go about this?" said a lioness. From the shadows several more lionesses appeared. Vitani had gone out to seek the help from the Lions who had stayed loyal to both Scar and Zira. She needed their help to get revenge.

"Didn't I already tell you? Tevari I need your help. Those Pridelanders are responsible for Kovu's death!" Vitani repeated, "The king and queen wanted to wait for Kion to arrive. We couldn't do anything to help save Kovu. They made us sit there and do nothing! She screamed

"Shhh now, we don't want you crying on us," said the lioness named Tevari

"The question is if you will help me," Vitani replied coldly

"On one condition. If you succeed in taking over the Pridelands we want a share and some benefits," another lioness said. They all agreed

"Fine, just help me," Vitani said a little more desperate than she had meant

"You have a deal," Tevari replied

Kaia pov:

It was now morning, Kion and I would go on patrol once again. That Vitani Kion had mentioned was still not back yet. Wasn't this her job? Now we both have to do her dirty work. But I guess this is what I signed up for.

"Kion!" I said walking up to him

"You seem cheery this morning," he said

"What do you mean? I'm always cheery," I told him

"So what's the agenda today?" He asked

"I guess we just walk around seeing if there is anyone in need of help?" I suggested

"Sounds good," he replied.

"Hey can you tell me about Rani?" I suddenly asked him. I had wanted to know more, but I figured Kion would want some time before I brought up that place.

"Rani is a wonderful and kind leader," he began, "She cares a lot for her people. When we first arrived at the Tree of Life we caused a landslide that blocked the entrance to the Tree of Life. Rani and her Night Pride were the protectors of the Tree of Life,"

"And?"

"Well this part is embarrassing. We were prohibited from entering the Tree of Life," Kion said embarrassed

"What? Then how did you get in?"

"Rani's grandmother allowed us in because of the fact I had the Roar of the Elders. Fast forward me and Rani settled the misunderstanding and became close friends. Then I guess we just...Well, clicked," he looked up at the sky, closed his eyes and imagined those scenes. Of course I wasn't there but from his story this Rani was either very kind or very bold.

"Can you tell me what you like about her?" He looked at me with a questioning gaze. I didn't want to use this for anything bad, I just wanted to know...That's all.

"The way she smiles," He started, "The way she always seems to light a fire inside of me, how she makes me feel whole," Kion couldn't continue. Soon tears started to fall, and I felt really bad for asking him.

"I'm sorry,"

"Why? It's not your fault,"

"It is. If I could have saved Kovu and Kiara they wouldn't have died, and you would be in the Tree of Life right now; with Rani" I felt so guilty. This whole thing is my fault. If I was better then maybe I could have saved them both. If I had my full power, maybe...Just maybe...I could bring them back from the dead. But I couldn't do that. What is the point of this Roar of Life if I can't even save the people Kion loves?!
