Stick To The Script

When you're writing a story and for some reason you stop and don't start back up until months or so later, you can forget what you wrote.

For instance if you a character is turning eighteen in a week in one chapter and then turn around and say they turned eighteen last summer, it can confuse people.

Everytime a change is made in your story, make sure you change it in every part. Otherwise we just get confused. That is not what you want.
