You stood at the doorway, holding your pick-up pass for the daycare. There's other parents seen, too. You waited in a subtle (not really) line.

The parents in front got their kids and then left. When it came time for you to get Briar, she was resting in Sun's arms. Her face had tear markings down her cheeks. Her body was slightly trembling, too... she wasn't having a nightmare because she'd be sobbing. Those tears didn't look... freshly new.

"Hello, Mx! Here is Briar!" He said happily as he handed her sleeping body to you. Her body was actually shaking. You could feel it now. Her eyes briefly opened, looking scared before closing them again. "I think she might've had a nightmare... I found her shaking and crying after naptime.."

You felt Briar grab your shirt tighter for a moment. What happened during naptime? Nightmares don't cause this much trouble for her.. a few tears, a few seconds of trembling, but not like this.

"Oh... alright then. Goodbye, Sun," you waved with one hand before walking away, holding Briar, who nervously looked up at you the moment the daycare music faded out of ear range.

She had spent most of her day in the daycare, the place she did want to go to. Your steps to the front entrance were quickened. Until you remembered something. That job application.

You turned on your feet for a moment, finding the one that had the people pay. He looked at you, raising his eye brow. "Yes?"

"So.. I was wondering if I could get a job and I saw there was an offer for the dayca–"

"The daycare? Do you like kids?" He cut you off, placing his hands on the counter with slightly widened eyes.

You looked confused at why he acted weirdly. "Yeah..?" Your tone was confused, but there was confidence in the overall response.

"Perfect, you'll start next Monday." He handed you a small box and paper. It was like he was ready for this opportunity.

With a confused look upon your face, you grabbed the box with your free hand. Holding it, the paper, and your daughter in your arms. You then left the building, faintly hearing him talk to other workers about someone being willing enough.

The parking lot was easy to navigate, to find your car at least. To get out was another story.

"Mama/Papa...?" Briar mumbled as she fumbled with the paw of Mr Teddy.

You, looking in the rear view mirror, nodded, "Yeah, hun?"

"It wasn't... nightmare.." You heard a faint sniffle. Her hands tightened around the plushy's hand. "Mr Moon... scary.." she said before angerly tossing her bear to the front seat of the car. After she did, she winced, her hand going to clutch her side.

"Dear, what's wrong? You winced.." you asked while briefly looking in the mirror that's at the top of the car.

Briar shook her head. She then sniffled and went to wipe her nose with her hand. That's when you saw it.

A familiar color... a.. color on her side.

A red.. crimson red.

Blood...

Heya!

Ooo... Briar's bleeding. I wonder how that happened...

And I wonder.. why was the job so easy to get? It's typically a process... hm..

Anyways, have a great Day/Night/Evening, my fellow weirdos!
