7 years later...
Lloyd's pov:
His opponent's sword slashed him but missed by merely centimeters. He quickly stepped back to create some distance and attacked back. To his bad luck, his adversary saw it come and easily blocked the attack.
"Is that really all you got? Come on, I teach you better than that" he said before throwing Lloyd back again and instantly going back to attack.
Lloyd quickly dodged every attack before launching a kick at him and sending him backwards. He quickly prepared his sword for the next attack before his old sensei could get ready. With his sword in position, Lloyd slashed it directly at him. What he didn't expect was his master to use his own sword to block his blade, sidestep and make him trip to crash with the ground before pinning him on place with his own katana on his throat.
"What did I tell you? Don't rush into battle! Your enemy will see that coming from a mile away!"
"But I'm not giving away the element of surprise!" The blond boy said before using a surge of his power to kick his sensei off and throw away his sword. Before the old man could get back his weapon, Lloyd's blade was already threateningly close to him.
"Well done, Lloyd. That was a good fight." Sensei told him before extending his hand for Lloyd to help him up.
"As iron sharpens iron-" he began.
"Sensei sharpens student" Lloyd finished.
"Exactly" The old man said with a nod before going to retrieve his own katana. Which Lloyd dared think his long black bear reached before him. He still wondered how a ghost could have such a long bear. Or anyone for the matter.
"Thank you, sensei, but I'd like to train even more. Maybe practice some other skills-"
"You have progressed extremely well, but you can't hurry your training. You have done more than enough. I'm sure your father is already quite proud of you" Sensei Yang cutted off Lloyd.
He knew it was true, but Lloyd still ached to do more. It was really the only thing interesting to do in the palace. Being in there all day was extremely boring, and after the recent attacks on some villages, his father wouldn't let him leave for his usual walks through the forest if not with a guard to keep an eye on him.
"I know you're looking forward to demonstrating to your father that you can handle yourself. But do understand these. We don't know why the last attacks have started or how it's even possible. Until we can find out what their intentions are, you need to stay safe. Your people need you" Sensei Yang said with a hand on Lloyd's shoulder.
"I know...." Lloyd sighed.
"Perhaps you can check on the west corridor at sunset. You'll have approximately one minute before the guards get there to keep watch." Sensei Yang whispered. Making Lloyd's eyes shoot up to him and wide at the information.
Before he could even say something, his sensei gave him a stern look with his finger on his mouth. Telling him not to say a word, after all, that information would get Lloyd out of the castle. So he just gave his master a respectful bow.
"Seems I have come just in time" Garmadon's voice echoed through the training ground.
"Father!" Lloyd exclaimed.
"Lord, what brings you here?" Sensei yang asked.
"I'm looking to talk with my son."
"Then he's all yours, we just finished with training" Yang spoke while putting his katana on his belt before leaving, heading to walk straight through a wall.
