The chain of his handcuffs chimed as he walked into the unfamiliar territory. After the war, the place was unrecognizable. Where houses, crops and buildings used to be by; now only rubble, rocks, burn pieces of land and piles of rocks displayed on the area. He had only once ventured this far when he was a child, with Misako and Ice. Before everything went south. The dead place was now only one of the many reminders of their mistakes.

"Keep walking" a soldiers pushed him.

"Ugh. I'm walking" Wu grumbled. Not long after that, they stopped at what seemed once to be the center of the town.

"What's the matter my king?" the other soldier asked the young king. Her long black hair reached her waist.

"I ordered some horses to take us back, but it seems there's a delay. Due to the destroyed routes." The pale king said, leaning even more on his counselor.

Wu wasn't bothered by it. In fact, it was a bit of a relief for him. He would be lying if he said he feared going to the castle. He was terrified. Who knew what sort of things could happen there, especially to the enemy. War may be over, but that didn't mean they were at peace or safe yet. Even less in his predicament.

A couple of rocks fell off a pile of rubble of one of the houses, gaining the attention of the young elemental. He inspected the pile from where he stood. It was huge, and he could see the hand of an unfortunate soul that didn't make it out in time. But that wasn't what surprised him, but a sound that came from there.

"Did you hear that?" he asked, bringing the eyes of everyone on him.

"No, what is it?" the black-haired soldier asked carefully, earning an annoyed look from her companion but firing daggers at him.

"On the pile" Wu said focused on the tiny sound, trying to make his way to said rubble but being stopped by the sword of the girl that slashed before him. She may seem gentler than the rest of the army, but standing in her way was a grave mistake.

"My king?" she asked, waiting for permission to let him pass. The man looked curiously at Wu before nodding his head and motioning to her to follow him.

She nodded as her sword lowered and let him pass. He quickly ran to the pile and tried to hear what had caught his attention before. His blond, almost pale, hair shined with the deem light of the day. The golden and white marks on his face and rounded horns on his head as well gave a strange sight.

But there it was again, the weak coughs from before. "There's someone still alive there!" he stated as he kneeled to the origin of the sound and started to move some heavy rocks. It was no easy task with his handcuffs on, but he wasn't going to be responsible of any other death. Not if he could prevent it.

After many rocks, he discovered a little face. A light dark skin and ink black hair were covered on dust and bruises. The boy had passed out, and it almost looked like he wasn't breathing. It was possible he had been caught in the rubble and almost asphyxiated to death.

"It's a child!" Wu screamed; his heart falling to his stomach as he felt the cold sweet on his neck, trying even more desperately to get the little boy out. The guard that was watching him started to help him, and soon enough they managed to get the infant out.
