Kai's pov:
Tones of greens sprinted through his vision as the motor of the bike roared under him. Cole's tight hold had loosened up a bit since they darted out of Valcor. That told Kai they had a good distance from the city. The uneven path almost made them bump every now and then, but they needed to get farther away and deeper into the forest before they could stop.
"Are they still following?" Kai shouted, his voice being just loud enough over the wind and motor.
He felt as Cole looked back from behind him. "Yeah!" he answered.
He nodded and dodged yet another tree. They kept on speeding over the forest before Kai finally hit the brakes and they stopped with a screeching sound from the tires. Jay and Lloyd soon arrived and stopped just in time, unlike them, they didn't leave a mark with the bike.
"That was a good ride" Cole commented proudly, gaining a smirk from Kai while he playfully shook his head.
"Why did we stop?" Lloyd's voice asked. Kai turned back to him and his blue friend. Both had their hair flown in every direction, making it look a bit messy in an amusing way.
Kai held back a smile before answering. "We have to turn off the trackers in the bikes, can't have the rest of the baron forces following us."
Lloyd nodded at him, looking back down. Kai could see he was deep in thought, but something about the somber expression on the dark lander told him there was something else. But before he could say anything about it, he saw Lloyd perking up at seeing Jay run his fingers over the control panel of their bike.
"And........ ready" Jay said, looking back up from his bike to Kai.
Kai snapped back to reality, he nodded and immediately went back to his own control panel. Clicking on some options and disabling the tracker of his bike.
"Alright, we're good to go" Kai said, looking back at them.
"Then what are we waiting for?" Cole asked from behind, Kai smirked at him and accelerated the bike just a bit to catch Cole off guard. Making him almost stumble back but managing to hand on to Kai's armor.
"For you to be ready" Kai replied with a smirk. Cole gave him a playful annoyed look before hitting him lightly on the head before grumbling "Really funny" as he held on to Kai's shoulders.
Kai rolled his eyes at him, although he couldn't really hide the smirk on his face. He roared the engine, and they all started to ride again. Taking a turn, they left their old path behind. Going through the edges of the forest and making sure they wouldn't leave a trail behind them.
The day shined clearly over them as the light blues turned into a firmer light blue, but after many hours of travelling at maximum speed. They arrived at some old ghost village.
Rubble and pieces of rock walls still stood in the middle of the destroyed village. Wood and rubble laid burned and destroyed all around, making it hard to believe this was once a village.
The sun made long shadows from what still stood on the area. They rode slowy through the destroyed ghost town, the path rocky but manageable as they reached an old house at the edge of the town.
