Following two weeks of training, the day of the sports festival finally arrived. After everyone changed into their PE uniforms, you all sat in a waiting room, most of your classmates were chatting amongst themselves.
You sat silently leaning against the wall, lost in your own thoughts, before the door to the waiting room slammed open, snapping you out of your own thoughts.
"Everyone! Get your game faces on! We're entering the arena soon!" Iida shouted from the now opened door. You push yourself off the wall and begin making your way out of the waiting room along with the rest of your class.
"Midoriya." Todoroki said as he approached the green haired boy, gaining his and the rest of the class's attention.
"H-Hey, Todoroki. What's up?" Midoriya stuttered out as he turned to face him.
"From an objective standpoint, I think it's fairly clear that I'm stronger than you." Todoroki said plainly. "However. You've got All Might in your corner, helping you out. I'm not here to pry about what's going on between you two. but know that I will beat you."
"What's with all of these declarations of war lately?" Kaminari questioned.
"Yeah. What's the big deal? Why are you picking a fight all of the sudden?" Kirishima said as he placed a hand on Todoroki's shoulder in an attempt to deescalate things.
"We're not here to be each other's friends." Todoroki said, shaking Kirishima's hand off his shoulder before turning to walk away. "Don't forget, this isn't a team effort."
"Wait a sec, Todoroki." Midoriya spoke up, stopping Todoroki. "I don't know what's going through your head, and yeah, of course you're better than me. In fact, you probably have way more potential than anyone in the hero course. That's why you got in so easily!"
"Midoriya. Maybe you're being a little hard on yourself and us." Kirishima chimed in again in another attempt to deescalate things.
"No, he's right, you guys." Midoriya said, cutting Kirishima off. "All the other courses they're coming for us, with everything they got. We're all gonna fight to stand out. And I'll be aiming for the top too."
...
"HEY! Make some noise, all of you rabid sports fans! Get those cameras prepped, media hordes!" Present Mic's voice echoed throughout the massive stadium as the audience roared with excitement. "This year, we're bringing you some of the hottest performances in sports festival history! I've only got one question: ARE YOU READY!? Let me hear you scream as our students make their way to the main stage! This first group is no stranger to the spotlight! You know them for withstanding a villain attack! The dazzling students lighting up your TVs with solid gold skills! The hero course students of class 1-A!"
As he said, this class 1-A exited the tunnel. The crowd once again exploded with excitement, cheering on the young heroes to be.
"I-I didn't know there'd be so many people." Midoriya stuttered while scanning the crowd.
"I hope we're still able to give our best performance even though all these eyes are watching us." Iida stated. "But I suppose it's just another aspect of being a hero we all have to learn to get used to."
As you looked around, you couldn't help but feel nervousness start to build. It felt like all eyes were suddenly on you as your thoughts drifted back to the incident with the general studies students two weeks ago.
"There's so many people. Oh, I'm so nervous. What about you, [Y/N]?" Mina's voice called out to you, snapping you out of your own thoughts.
"Oh yeah, I guess you could say that." You say while rubbing the back of your neck in an attempt to calm your wavering nerves.
