It's no use to drag this situation for much longer,
Especially if only one wants to save a friendship from being a total goner.
I'm sorry I gave up, but you do realize that people get tired too, right?
It's no use to continue when you clearly want nothing to do in this fight.

So I accept my defeat,
I accept that it's no longer a possibility to save this friendship.
With this, I knew I achieved a far greater feat.
I chose my peace, rather than our fleeting relationship.

Everything happens for a reason, so they say.
So I'll let that be my mantra for this situation, if I may.
I really hope there is a reason that could explain your actions,
Otherwise it'll just hurt more if ending friendships is just your intention.

All that happened really were painful,
But I won't deny the fact that with you, my life did became a bit more colorful.
I learned a lot from you, if I'm being honest,
Seeing you do your best made me so proud, that I made myself a promise.

A promise that I thought I would get to tell you,
That I will always try to do my best, like you always do.
Though that didn't happen because fate had other plans,
I now realize that I didn't actually regret asking you for a helping hand.

My past poems contained my anger, confusion, hurt, and frustration for you.
Yes, I still feel sorry, but I won't let that reign over the positive memories I had with you.
Our friendship may have ended on a sour note,
Yet I still want to preserve those moments by these poems that I wrote.

From today onwards I'm letting this friendship go,
Wholeheartedly and sincerely, I want you to know.
I will be keeping our positive memories deep within my mind,
Being the sole reminder that you were once a friend of mine.

As we now take our different paths,
I hope we become successful just like what we planned.
Our different paths may never cross again,
But at least at some point, our paths met, leaving me a lot to gain.

You made me understood that people  sometimes do come just to go,
Leaving you with bittersweet memories and a whole lot of lessons that would make you grow.
Despite everything that happened, I thank God that I met you,
You were once a big influence in my life, if only you knew.
