Looking back on all those moments, now just part of our past.
I've come to realize that some friendships were just not meant to last.
How I wish it was never the case for our friendship,
But keeping you beside me is like stubbornly tending an already wrecked ship.
It's no use to fight for a battle that has already lost,
It's no use to call back a boat that has long crossed.
Despite that, do know that you will always have a place in my heart,
Because it was you whom I was first with in the start.
No matter what, I will always pray for you,
You might not share my beliefs but believe me, this is the best I could do.
It is indeed unfortunate how our friendship came to an end,
Maybe in the future, in God's time, I hope we'll make amends.
Stepping forward is what now I will do,
For I've spent so much draining myself thinking about you.
Believe it or not, no hard feelings is what I can say in this present.
For my heart actually feels lighter and my emotions much more pleasant
I guess I really should've just let you go sooner,
Because I would've never known that I too, can be such a fan of dark humor.
I hope I wasn't the only one who learned and had some realizations,
Because I know, no friend of yours would want to be in a similar situation.
Our paths have crossed, and our purposes now fulfilled,
With our memories being the evidence of the life we both once lived.
You were a friend, and that will always be a fact.
We once cared for the other and even made a pact.
I wish for you to live the life that you deserved,
For I witnessed your sacrifices and just how hard you worked.
Again, I am sorry for everything I said that might've hurt you,
May you realize I never intended to cause pain, especially to you.
If I could change one thing in our past,
It's that I would've been bolder and never worn a mask.
I will blatantly tell you how I feel,
And not turn a blind eye just so I could accommodate your whims.
Nevertheless, it is time to let go.
For holding onto what you once were, is clearly a big no.
I did my best and I'm now at peace,
I hope you are too, for in my life you were once a big piece.
