Eiran was able to burn through the ice quickly. He knocked Kaiden over, smiling at him. "I'm sorry." He whispered. He sealed his little brother in ice now. The door was knocked down by a squad of men in black suits and small guns, all pointed at Eiran.
Eiran put his hands up, stepping away from Kaiden. "Which one of you did this!?"One officer in a blue suit screamed at them. "It was me." Eiran said, standing tall. Kaiden didn't say anything, but he did look at his older brother with horror. "Very well. Take him to the castle!"The man screamed at the other men, who all surrounded Eiran, cuffing him and shoving him into the back of a big, white van.
The last time he saw Kaiden was crying, being held back by a few officers who stayed to bring him to social services. Kaiden would have to be adopted now. That was something Eiran couldn't wrap his head around. Kaiden living with someone else. It took a few hours to get to the castle of the president. President Sullivan said that the old white house was "not enough for the man who would rebuild the world". He also insisted that he be president for the rest of his life, claiming he "Made the world perfect" and "Anyone else in office would ruin it all. He should at least die in the world he created."In the opinion of Eiran, he ruined the already broken world even more.
To be fair, the old white house was over 400 years old and did need to be replaced. But a castle? Eiran thought it was just another way of saying, "I'm your leader. I'm rich and I can get away with almost anything so don't cross me."but he could be wrong.
The van came to an abrupt stop, making Eiran sway slightly. The doors opened. Light flooded the inside of the dark van's interior. He shielded his eyes to give them time to adjust to the sudden light. His arm was grabbed and he was thrown on the ground.
"Let's go. The president is waiting."The man standing over him said. This one was wearing a white military uniform. A general. How wonderful. When you were caught using your powers you were labeled "Too dangerous and violent"and were given an audience with the president. This also grants you a lifetime in the dungeons of the castle.
He was picked up by his arms again, one man on either side of him dragging him in through the huge, wooden doors. They stopped for a minute then continued down a white carpet until they sat him down on my knees, in front of the president. There he was sitting on his throne, with bright blue eyes and a beard white as snow.
Those eyes reminded him of Kaiden and his mom's eyes but they were different. His eyes weren't soft or caring. These eyes that were staring down at him were cold and icy. He felt as if he was dead already just by him looking at me. A young woman about his age was right next to him on a smaller throne. She was his daughter. He knew this right away because she had those eyes. Those cold, dead eyes. He found himself looking at the ground, trying to avoid them.
"Mr. President. This man was arrested for using magic against a young boy. The whole house was surrounded with traces of all elements so we suspect he wasn't working alone. We were unable to find any other magic users but we are still searching."The guard stated, standing tall.
The president looked down on Eiran, like he was trying to solve a puzzle. "Tell me. Why were you and your associates attacking a little boy?" He asked, raising a curious eyebrow. "He's my little brother. He got a failing grade on his work in school then back talked. As for my associates, they ran off far before you got there." Eiran figured it better they see him as a monster than a weapon, so he lied.
"I'll say, you are a good lair kid, but not good enough to get past me." He smirked, like he had won. Well, didn't he? Eiran forgot one crucial fact about the king. He had soul magic and of course he was allowed to use it. He could easily spot a lie no matter how good it was. That's how soul magic worked, you could enter one's mind and see almost anything about them you wanted. This was something Eiran never bothered messing with, considering soul magic slowly drains your own soul, killing you.
"Now it's either I go in that little mind of yours and force that information out of you, or you tell me. Which will it be?" Eiran's mind quickly went to Kaiden. If he knew what really happened, they would lock Kaiden up so he had no choice. "Okay, Okay. There was no one else there. I can use all the elements. Every one of them. I could show you if you don't believe me." He pleaded, closing his eyes.
"There it is. Finally, the truth. Was that so hard?"He asked, as if talking to a child. Eiran didn't respond. "Put him in the special dungeons. They are the only ones made to withstand all kinds of magic."He smiled down one Eiran and the guards, sending them off. The guards took Eiran's arms again, though this time being slightly more careful with him. Maybe being able to kill them any way he wanted was more frightening.
Eiran was taken down past all of the rest of the cells, all full with starving, pleading faces. They reached the end of the hall and they stopped so one of the guards could reach into his pocket and pull out a ring of different keys. He opened the door to a large room with pieces of grass and dirt that surrounded a small pond. A tiny island sat in the middle with large chains hanging from above. He was walked into the middle, the guards having to stop and do some sort of spell but Eiran didn't catch it. He had the cuffs placed on him. They covered the entirety of his hands, and he quickly learned they were unable to be melted or frozen by magic.
The guards walked out, locking the door behind them and laughing through the hallway. There he was, locked up in the dungeons of the president's castle and most likely will be used as a weapon. Just great. At least they didn't make him stand. He then remembered he was able to teleport. Teleportation was a subdivision of Void, since Void was an extension of Spirit. The magic chart was slightly confusing if you hadn't been like Eiran and studied it daily.
He struggled, because of course he hadn't practiced soul magic. He got out of the chains but he wanted to go past the water. No worries, he conjured up an ice path over the large gap. As soon as the ice reached the other end, it disappeared. "What?" Eiran found himself saying out loud.
This wasn't normal water, this was Lightbane water. This water was specifically made to block out all magic. That's what the guards were doing before. They had to cast a spell that was specialized to the water in order to get through. He couldn't cross...
Eiran was stuck there. He was stuck within this small island, taunted by all the elements around him. Not being able to use any of them to his advantage. The barrier of the water made that impossible. He would find his chance eventually. He was determined to get out and get back to Kaiden.
