Eiran and Lola looked around quickly and took their hoods off when they were sure no one would see them. "How did you-" Lola started but was interrupted by Captain Josephine.

"For one, you're not very good at hiding, for two, you really should've used better fake names." Eiran and Lola slowly glared at Felix.

"And for three-" she continued, "I have a way of reading people pretty well." She smiled, the scar on her cheek deforming. Eiran wondered how many fights she had gotten into to have that many scars.

She looked to Eiran but didn't say anything. He assumed she noticed him staring. Needless to say he never made that mistake again. He also noticed something when she looked at him. Her eyes were almost golden, a trait of Gold magic users.

"Your eyes-"Eiran started, looking at her. "We'll all talk more when we're on my ship where it is safe."She stated frantically. Eiran and Lola both nodded at her in agreement.

They quickly got their supplies and Lola's horse loaded onto the compartment at the bottom of the ship. After they were done getting everything onto the ship with a little help from the crew, Captain Josephine called them into her office to talk.

Eiran opened the heavy door very cautiously, after all, what did they really know about the captain of this ship? He quickly spotted both Lola and Felix waiting in chairs opposite Captain Josephine, an empty chair waiting for him. He sat down in the middle chair, between Lola and Felix.

"Now that you're all here, I think we have some very important things to discuss. First order of business, who are you people and what are you doing with The Shadow on my ship?"She asked, slowly standing up and scowling at them.

The three of them didn't really know where to start but they ended up explaining to her. By the end of their story, she was sitting back down, clearly thinking about something. "You say your little brother has all the same powers as you?"She turned to Eiran.

"Ya. He has always had all five main powers. He always has."He answered casually. "I've never heard of that before but it could just be that he has multiple powers. It's uncommon, but it does happen. He may just so happen to have the main powers while you are the Shadow. Your parents made a heck of a couple of kids. They must be proud."Josephine smiled at him.

Eiran gave her a half-hearted smile, not really wanting to have to explain to this stranger how he burned his own parents to death. He guessed Felix could tell or he just felt bad because he knew what happened to his parents because he grabbed his hand.

Eiran held onto his hand tightly. That hand was now his lifeline, just as it had been for Felix once before. Eiran and Felix both managed to keep a straight face during this but Lola noticed. She tapped his on the shoulder and smiled, giving his a thumbs-up. Eiran blushed slightly, not noticing Felix talking to Captain Josephine.

"What about you?"She looked at Eiran now. "W-what? Sorry can you repeat that? Zoned out."He told her. "Who are you here for? Who are you fighting for?"She asked him, being given a very confused look.

"No one on Earth would ever set out to change the world just for themselves. It doesn't matter if they're already dead or not. Regardless, everyone who has set out to do what you are doing, only does it for someone important. Who is it?"She explained.

Eiran was taken aback for a minute but eventually opened his mouth. "I guess there are a couple. I want my little brother to grow up in a world where he can just be him. No holding back because of his powers. My parents. I don't ever want anyone to die like they did...I don't want people getting killed because some people can't control their emotions."He squeezed Felix's hand tighter. "And..."He looked at Felix. He didn't ever want anything bad to happen to him. "I want nomadges to be treated with more respect. I don't want the people I care about dying because they just exist." He said, not taking his gaze away from Felix once.

She didn't say anything else to him and if she did he didn't catch it because he suddenly found himself wondering what Felix said. Did he mention Eiran at all? Did Felix want to protect him as much as Eiran wanted to protect Felix?

He snapped out of his trance just in time to hear the last bit of Lola's answer. Something about a kid but he didn't quite understand that part.

Captain Josephine looked at her with sad eyes but didn't say anything. Eiran quickly found himself uncomfortable in the sudden silence. He then remembered what he was going to ask in the pub.

"Are you a gold user?" He looked to Captain Josephine, those eyes piercing through him. "Yes, I am. You're very familiar with the magic chart and different characteristics that go with certain powers then? Not most people can pick up on the eye color." She answered calmly leaning back in her chair.

"Been studying it my whole life. Kind of helpful to know all of my powers don't you think?" He asked, finding himself looking away from her.

"Yes. Well I think we've been talking too long and it's getting late. Ralph will show you yo your rooms." She said, motioning to a tall, light haired man in the back of the room who had a missing arm.

"Okay..." Eiran responded hesitantly. He would be lying if he said he wasn't at all intimating. The man named Ralph gave a friendly crooked smile and Eiran knew he ment well. He just kind of seemed like the soft type that looked super intimidating but actually couldn't hurt a fly.
