the boo crew was doing their own things at Monster High so lets check in with Clawd who was on that trip with his parents. ever since he got to Florida and checked into the hotel... he got bad vibes from the workers, all of them had these smiles on their faces but their smiles made him feel uneasy, like he knew something was wrong with them. and their room was small so he had to share a bed with his mom which he was happy to do but he was confused, if they were expected to come shouldn't they have gotten a better room? and he was supposed to meet a buisness person who wanted to see him for being a hybrid but for the past month he hasn't, he wanted to go home but his family needed that money so he sucked it up. he never did anything, his parents would go out and Clawd would stay in the room, catching up on homework, calling his sister, ghoulfriend and friends, or jamming out to music. he missed Clawdeen a lot and Draculaura, hoped she still loved him after almost 2 months away from her.
right now Clawd was sleeping while Selena was sitting on the ground holding a picture of Catarina in her paw, unknowingly to her, her son was tossing and turning as he couldn't sleep, his body refused to let himself relax, and no matter what position he was in he was not comfortable at all
* I slept well last time and the days before that, why is today different!?*
too frustrated and giving up, Clawd threw the covers off him and planted his feet on the floor wondering what to do next, he wasn't gonna lay back down since he knew that wasn't going to work
Clawd: I already have a hard time being away from my little sister and possible ghoulfriend, why is wolf Goddess Zalia punishing me?
he scanned the room and noticed his mother on the ground still holding the picture, confused he got up and walked to her and sat next to her
Selena: Clawd? I didn't hear you get up... w-why are you up?
Clawd: I couldn't sleep mom, why are you up?
Selena: just missing an old friend...
Clawd saw who was in the picture
Clawd: Catarina? but you said you and her have beef! She's The Reason Why You Got Separated From Clawdeen And Dad! And She Almost Took Over The School And Almost Turned Clawdeen To Stone With No Way Of Turning Her Back, So Technically She Tried To Kill Her!
Selena: I know son but you don't have the whole story...
Clawd: I don't?
Selena set the picture down and pulled her son up
Clawd: mom?
Selena: want a story?
Clawd: uh, sure...
Selena led Clawd back to bed and tucked him in and kissed his furry forehead
Selena: this is the story of me and Catarina when we were in school...
FLASHBACK
Selena: *voice over* when I was a Freshman I met Catarina who was the quiet girl, she was always bullied for having glasses and for being pretty small. one day I stuck up for her and pretty soon we became best friends, we'd do everything together, we'd study, hang out and eat. but of course when I met your father I couldn't tell her since I was afraid too... we had the perfect relationship, but all that changed when I became Were-Ruler...
young Selena was shocked as every monster bowed before her, everyone except Catarina who looked furious
Catarina: Her!? Were-Ruler Just Because She Was Next In Line?! But She's The Youngest In Her Family! I'm An Only Child!
the Headmistress at the time told her
headmistress: Selena is the rightful ruler, her mother is-
Catarina: WAS! SHE WAS THE RULER! I DESERVE IT MORE!
Selena's ears drooped
Selena: Cat... why are you acting like this, if you want we could both rule, together
Selena tried to touch Catarina but the were-cat swiped at her with a hiss
Catarina: DON'T TOUCH ME! I WANTED ALL THE POWER! I SHOULD BE THE WERE-RULER NOT YOU!
Selena had enough of this
Selena: I CAN'T CONTROL WHO MY MOTHER WAS! YOU THINK I WANT TO BE IN CHARGE!? OF COURSE I DON'T BUT I WAS CHOSEN NOT YOU!
Catarina: I THOUGHT YOU WERE MY BEST FRIEND! YOU SAID YOU LOVED ME!
Selena: I DO LOVE YOU CAT!
Catarina turned away
Catarina: don't call me that.... we're over, I'm better off alone!
Selena: Catarina... please
Catarina turned to face her with her eyes full of hate and anger
Catarina: I promise you this, I will be the were-ruler one day... just you wait...
Selena watched sadly as Catarina ran out of the school, full of revenge and bitterness
END OF FLASHBACK
Selena: and ever since then, we haven't talked, she started picking on me then we grew up and she trapped me in another dimension...
Clawd's ears drooped, he felt terrible for his mother, he felt angry toward Catarina, how dare she yell at his mom. Selena noticed her son's anger and laid him back down
Selena: alright honey, I think you've been up for too long, go to sleep
Clawd: but Mom!
Selena: now
Clawd sighed and turned to his side, he smiled feeling his mother lay next to him and hold him close, he then heard this
Selena: *if you ever feel like you are all alone, look up at the moon and I'll be there.. when you see the light, I'll be there to guide you, just remember what we used to say...*
she stopped singing after seeing Clawd fast asleep
Selena: sweet screams baby
she stroked his curly hair and kissed his forehead before pulling him closer and falling asleep as well
