Karan's Birthday (1)

It had been far too long since Karan and Teju had seen each other.

Okay, technically only a few days, and for any other couple, it would be a blessing to get a breather. But not for Karan and Teju.

Even a single day is excessive.

Heck, even when they get to spend days, upon days with each other, it's never enough.

Due to their careers time apart is inevitable, making their longing for each other almost unbearable.

Karan's anticipation peaked once he flew over the beautiful sunset. When his plane touched down in Goa, he immediately texted Teju.

Just landed. I wish I could see you tonight my love!

Teju had already told Karan not to wait for her at the airport, or even expect them to be able to spend time together until tomorrow.

Teju had work that she couldn't get out of. Karan was doing his best not to pout. It was so strange to be in the same city as his Laddoo but not with her.

Not just any city, that too Goa! Which at this point was their home away from home.

Karan walked through the airport, looking around when his phone buzzed. Instantly a smile spread across his face.

I'm sure you do! I'm so happy, Sunny, that you arrived safely!

"Brat," Karan muttered under his breath, chuckling to himself.

So quirky and enticing and so sweet at the same time. It's no surprise he finds her so fascinating.

My Laddoo you are so ajeeb!

Karan made his way through Dabolim Airport. He was just about to leave the baggage area when he saw Teju.

It can't possibly be her, Karan thought to himself. But it is... the Laddoo cheeks, her beautiful smile, those curves that he could never forget.

And she's holding a sign. With his name on it.

It's so adorable that Karan's left stunned for a full eleven seconds, he thinks he must be hallucinating, until Teju notices him... Her smile widens.

Teju basically runs over to Karan, he drops his suitcase at their feet and pulls her up in his arms.

It's incredible, Karan thinks to himself. Even after all these years, the smell of her still does something to him.

Teju nuzzles her face into Karan's neck, basking in his presence.

"What are you doing here Laddoo?"

Teju feels Karan's lips brush against his ear, sending shivers down her spine as he whispers to her in a voice that sounds like thunder and honey.

"Nice surprise? Sunny, are you happy? It's your birthday baby!"

Karan looks down in wonder at Teju. "No... It's the best kind of surprise. Laddoo, I'm overjoyed to be with you, but I thought you had work..."

"I wanted to surprise you, Sunny! Every time I've tried to surprise you, you always find out from the look on my face! Saying I had work was the only thing I knew you would believe.

Karan shakes his head, giggling like Teju's little.

"I can't believe it's happening... Laddoo, you're incredible!"

"If you're impressed now, wait until you see the resort and also everything, I have planned for your special day Sunny!"
