Heyyyy ya!!
Welcome to the first ever chapter of the TWTM sequel!! I'm so excited to start this book.
Without wasting more of your time... introducing Audrey.
.
.
.Audrey's pov
"You've been getting orders wrong ever since we hired you! What exactly are you thinking about when taking orders?" I banged my fist on the table, and Bailey jumped back then burst out laughing.
"Your stupid ass customers can't even make up their minds as to what they want, I'm sorry. One last chance, and I'm done!" Bailey giggled and swayed a little.
"No, Bailey, you are officially out of warnings, which means I'll have to fire you. You're always high at work, and you never do anything around here, I'm sorry, but your fired bailey"
"Whatever, I'll go find another job somewhere I'll be appreciated." Bailey showed me the middle finger and glared at me with her bloodshot red glossy eyes.
Teenagers.
I sighed, then rubbed my temple as I felt a headache coming on.
It's been two years since my divorce and it's been a year since I dropped Backpacking mid way to take over my family resturants as my mom and step Dad have retired leaving Tyler, Megan and I to look after the resturants.
I'm placed in Texas, whilst Megan is in Los Angeles looking after the new restaurant that was built there a few months ago, and Tyler is in New york, and life is looking good.
No men stressing me, and no mistresses to annoy me.
Andre has grown his name even global in these two years, he has been branded a player since the departure from our marriage and lucky for me the spotlight has been off of me a year after we divorced.
My back packing journey taught me a lot about myself, things even I didn't know about myself. I learned that I can sing, which was a shocker to me, I learned that my body is in love with the cold but resistant to heat.
By that I mean, I prefer a cold weather over hot one.
My 1 year 9 months trip didn't feel enough.
I mean, I didn't get to go through all of Asia, nor did I get to travel to africa, the Pacific Islands, etc.. I missed out on a lot.
I wanted to go to India to visit Delhi and taste original Indian golgapas and jalebi, I even wanted to try kheer other indian sweets.
Iazily, i got up, grabbed my purse and car keys, then locked up and drove to my penthouse apartment which was a good ten minutes away from the resturant.
Once I got home, I took a quick shower then changed into my soft sweatpants, a grey hoodie, and some black socks.
I tied my hair back into a bun and then made my way to the kitchen, where I took out the ingredients to make Ramen and rice pudding.
I craved rice pudding, and Ramen is the easiest meal I could find.
I spend all my time in the kitchen cooking proper dishes that I end up not craving any at the end of the day.
With a sigh, I finally put on a good thriller to watch whilst I have my dinner.
My phone started ringing when the movie got to a very interesting part. I groaned then contemplated watching this part instead of answering or...ugh, I guess I'll just have to pause the movie.
"Are you happy that you ruined my thrill for this movie!" I yelled over the phone as soon as I answered it.
"Hello to you too, baby sis." Megan laughed
"Ugh, what can I help you with Megan?"
"Well, you could start by asking how your niece is, maybe ask me how ny pregnancy is going or maybe I don't know...tell me you love and miss me?" Megan joked whilst I rolled my eyes.
"How is Katherine? How is pregnancy treating you? I don't love you, nor do I miss you, " I mimicked Megan, and that earned me a laugh from her side.
I'd rather die than admit how much I love her.
"Kat is one rebellious toddler, I found out I'm having another girl, and Same applies here, sis,"
"Hehe, Kat is my role model! And congrats! I can't wait to my meet my new niece in a few months. "
"You need to stop encouraging my baby!" Megan scolded, and I laughed to the point where I almost knocked my rice pudding down.
"So, I need a favor, sis," she said, sounding serious after some time.
"Whats up? I asked
"Gabe got a job in Houston" she said quietly.
I know where this is going.
"Hmmm and...?"
"And he can't move from LA to Dallas without me. We need each other, especially since I'm pregnant and Kat needs her mother."
"Yeah," I answered lowly.
I'm not moving back to Los Angeles.
"So, I spoke to mom and Jay, and they suggested that I ask you to manage the restaurant here in LA and I manage the restaurant in Texas." She said.
"Nope, try Tyler."
"Oh, come on, you know Tyler is based in New york! Please, sis, I'll do anything... do this for Kat, please, pretty please, " Megan begged.
I'm so not moving back to that toxic city.
"Ohk, fine, but I'm doing this because Kat needs you." The words came out before I could stop them.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you, you're the best! I love you, bye!!" Megan hung up as quick as she possibly could.
I fell back on my bed and screamed into my pillow.
I'm not ready to face him! I'm not ready to go back, I know I'm over him and everything but-but I just can't go back there.
Failed marriage, failed friendship...it's all there! I just - graaaaaaaaaaaaahh.
Guess I'm moving back to LA.
