Audrey's pov
It was a normal Friday, the sun was out as usual and I was walking to LA Vie Cafe as I do every morning instead I wasn't rushing today as I wasn't going to work.
I feel almost burnt out especially after the whole saga with the media rediscovering me again, my employees looked at me different...I could feel it.
Everybody knew who I was now, heck, the staff that I'm used to at LA Vie were curious about who I really was.
So basically, my whole identity revolves around Andre...once again.
I just want to go back to how things were before I moved here. I wanna have my own identity, I mean, I've finally fallen in love with myself, I no longer let people define my race. I'm mixed and I love that for me, heck I don't even get offended when people ask what race I am anymore as I did in the past. I've finally worked on my anger issues through therapy...well, online therapy since I traveled alot in the past 1 year and 9 months.
Before I knew it I was at the counter putting in an order of the usual but I made the Barbie frappe a large instead of medium. Raven gave me a knowing smirk to which I playfully rolled my eyes and shaked my head at her.
"Oh come on Audrey! You divorced such a hottie like Andre, girl I would've forgiven that man for anything" Raven whined with her bottom lip pouted.
"Well, he's a bum." I shrugged and finally, my order was ready which resulted in Raven groening as it meant she wouldn't grill me anymore as I was already walking away after waving to her and other staff.
On my way out I bumped into the woman who had payed for my food the first time I entered this cafe. Heck, She's still beautiful as ever.
"Hi!" She said to me, man she's quite cheerful.
"Hey, you paid for my coffees right?" I asked and she nodded.
I quickly took out a 100 dollar bill and was about to pay when she gently pushed my hand back and politely declined the money.
"But I owe you" I said.
"Well, you can pay me back by joining me for brunch tomorrow." She said.
I have no friends here, I mean, the girls and I haven't even spoken in such a long time. I doubt they'd ever consider me friends ever again since they both aren't friends anymore last I checked.
Plus, I'm so lonely, and she is such a lovely cheerful soul that I can see myself being good friends with.
"Ofcourse, why not" I said and she pulled out her phone for me to out my number in.
Since I had forgotten my phone at home, I put my number in hers and then she waved me goodbye.
A familiar black car caught my eye and unconsciously I started walking faster as I knew whose car it was.
He's such a stalker ugh, I should get a restraining order at some point if this continues.
I got so lost in thought that I didn't notice I had tripped over a little girl.
My coffee!
Looking around, I realise people have stopped to stare instead of helping me. My cheeks flushed in embarrassment, I quickly got up and picked up my ruined 60dollars worth of breakfast and threw it in the nearby trash and ran...
Literally ran as if I'm being chased by a viscous dog.
I didn't even look back when the soft voice of the little girl apologized.
Me and my clumsiness.
.
.
.I look in the mirror, a smile slowly fell on my lips due to being satisfied with what I see, I wore Jean shorts that reached above my knees, a black tube top, black glasses, silver jewelry and white medium block heels. I decided to let my natural hair flow freely on my shoulders and forehead, I had a mini natural curly bangs that look led so cute on my face.
I finished off my look with a nude lipgloss, I grabbed my car keys and white purse before walking out.
Seems like I have new neighbour's as I could see people moving in the apartment next door.
A man caught my eye. He had a little red head girl in his strong chocolate arms, the little girl was giggling when he whispered something in her ear.
He grinned revealing his pearly white teeth and dimples making him look like a model. He wore a loose short sleeved white shirt and black shorts with white socks and sliders whilst the girl wore similar except she wore her white shirt with sweatpants and sneakers.
The little girl looked my way then whispered something to the man making him look my way, embarrassed that I got caught gawking at him, I quickly turn in my heel and press the elevator to basement.
This dang elevator is taking way too long to arrive. I could see them walking my way from my peripheral vision.
"Hi miss" a soft voice said coming from below, I looked down and there she was.
Redhead, green eyes with freckles on her nose. She looks majestic.
"Well, hello there" I said with a smile.
"I wanted to apologise for getting in your way yesterday but you ran away when I tried to apologise" she said looking down, the man came to stand behind her.
"Oh no sweety, I-I wasn't running away, I was uh, I was, i-i-" I stuttered and luckily the handsome man cut me off to save me from further embarrassment.
"Well, she wanted to buy you another coffee to apologize for the damage caused" he said in a husky and deep voice with an accent I could recognize from anywhere.
He's most probably from Tennessee.
"No no, it's alright. I should've seen where I was walking" i said shifting on foot to the other.
"I insist..about the uhh, coffee" he said then cleared his throat making me blush.
Man oh man, everything about him is just so hot.
"Well, if you insist" I said looking at him right in the eyes.
His dark brown twinkling eyes that called my name...I'm so delusional ugh.
The elevator finally opened up and I stepped in waving at the two.
"I'll see you?" He said but it came out like a question, I didn't get time to reply as I found myself being moved down by the elevator.
You will most definitely see me again Mr.hotstuff.
