Audrey's pov
I rush out of my apartment to LA Vie Cafe to grab the usual before going to work, today I'm working as a chef and I need to be an hour earlier than everyday because someone has booked the whole restaurant to host an engagement party and as the loving owner and host that I am, I have to ensure every dish is to perfection.
My bio dad loved cooking and baking and I guess I just picked that up from him, I mean I finally get to be my own boss and put my degree to use.
With a smile on my face, I enter the Cafe but it was extremely packed, I mean it is always packed but today was more packed and people were standing around one table in the corner making a noise and pushing each other to move closer to table.
Deciding to mind my business, I proceed to the counter where I put in an order for the usual and a custard crust pie since I've never one and it looked absolutely mouth watering.
"Thank you" I said to Tiana who is a new hire, she's very nice and straight forward, she's a professional cashier.
As I turned to leave, my smile instantly dropped as I came across someone I never thought I could see again, someone I dreaded to ever EVER meet in my life.
My freaking ex-husband.
"Hello wifey" he said with his stupid grin.
My oh my, he seems more mature...I know it has only been two years but damn, this man is literally so hot, a walking art piece.
If I wasn't over him, I would've licked him up like icecream-
Ohk, enough! I did not just think that!
Week, you dirty little bug.My eyes subconsciously checked him out, he is more muscular, he wore a black short sleeved shirt that clung to his upper body like it was part of his skin, grey sweatpants and white sneakers, his hair was now medium length...last time I saw him, he had a buzzcut.
"Hello ex-husband" I said after a while of silence, us just standing there, in the middle of the cafe was...I don't know how to describe it.
Everyone around us seemed to blur out. It felt like it was just the two of us in that room, none of us exchanging words, just looking intently into each other's eyes, as if our eyes communicated what we couldn't.
I coughed awkwardly then walked out the cafe, why? Well, I don't need him in my life whether a friend or more.
I've left that life behind. I got married to him as we had been bethrode by our parents thanks to my granddad saving his Dad's life. I can't believe our parents really thought this would work out, he had a freaking girlfriend who got pregnant at some point but I guess things do really happen for a reason as I found out about Adam's double life.
"Audrey! Wait up!" He yelled out for me.
I could see people taking pictures of him running after me, so I covered my face.
Ugh, I almost forgot he is a big celebrity.
Andre finally caught up to me, not even panting at all. So not fair!
I decided to just walk slowly to hear him out, why? I don't even know...dear body, walk faster and don't look back.
"What Andre!?" I asked abruptly stopping to face him, he was surprisingly very close to me that I had to take a step back to create a safe distance between us.
"I thought I could walk you to your apartment" he said and I corked my eyebrow at him questionebly.
"My apartment is around the corner, thank you" I said and proceeded to walk but he still followed behind me like my freaking bodyguard.
"You never drive here, you always walk" he said and I rolled my eyes as I now realise Jailer gang wasn't behind my paranoia.
"Whatever"I said and proceeded to walk, not minding him.
Not even five minutes later, we arrive at my apartment building and I went straight to the basement parking without acknowledging his presence, I got in my car and i was about drive away when he stood in front of my car.
I wish I could just run over him.
"Give me your number atleast" he said sheepishly. Oh damn, he looks so cute right now.
"No, now scram!" I yelled and honked my bell then revved my car to life before threatening to run him over, atleast he has a brain so he moved aside in time and I drove away, to my luck, I could spot some paparazzi standing outside my Apartment building.
This is exactly what I didn't want, life was great without the media all up in my business.
"Miss Audrey! Miss Audrey! Is that really you!? Are you back with Andre!?" They screamed after my car as I sped off.
.
.
."Breaking news, Andre Hampton. spotted with his ex-wife, Audrey"
"Ex-lovers spotted walking together"
"Where does this leave Payal Chopra and Andre Hampton?"I kept switching the channels but it seems celebrity gossip is more entertaining.
My phone started ringing besides me and I rolled my eyes as I knew he would give me an earful from what had been reported.
"Yes brother" I said as soon as I put my phone on my ear.
"Really? You're going back to him!? What the fuck sis?" Tyler asked.
"It's not what it looks like I swear" I said frustratedly.
"Oh really? Explain how you were seen walking with him...you taking freaking morning walks with your freaking ex-husband now? I thought you were done with Andre, he used you, I know you guys got married under bad circumstances but you still had feelings for him and he used you, he freaking cheated on you sis!"
I know Tyler cares alot and he isn't a fan of Andre anymore, he has made that very clear but he needs fo calm down.
"Ok firstly, he has been stalking me since I arrived and secondly, HE was following me if you look at those pictures clearly, I wasn't even talking to him. I'm as frustrated as you are ty, this is the reason I didn't want to come back here." I sighed and Tyler apologized for his outburst.
We spoke for a brief minute before hanging up.
I hate my life right now, I need to figure out a way to get myself off the lime light again.
