Maon
Maon rolls his eyes as Munán puts his hand out for a handshake, Maon simply slaps away his hand and sits down on his chair, he's been meeting with these nutcases way too much lately.
The people of the Cleansed River have always liked to do their own thing, they don't rely that much on the Golden Isle and it's wealth. It's too messy. And it's very easy to become reliant on something, to become lazy and when they leave you down you have nothing.
Maon and his people are lucky they've good farming land, unlike Sliabh, who has no choice but to rely on Annalise.Just then the doors open and Annalise makes her grand entrance. The others stand but Maon only sat down and he doesn't want to have to stand again.
"I see our little dragon has not arrived," she smirks.
Her smirk disappears as the door opens behind her.Maon looks up at a small girl in the doorway, all by herself. She wears a brightly coloured dress, that's only made of thin material, which makes her stand out like a sore thumb. Maon sighs to himself when he sees Annalise look her up and down, he hopes she's strong enough to be able to handle the gruelling she's going to get.
"Ah your late," Annalise says, hiding her grin.
"Perhaps my eyes deceive me but did I not just see you walk in?" Dolag frowns.
Maon smiles over at Sliabh, who lowers his head to hide his smile.
"Take a seat," Munán gets up and puts out his hand for Dolag to follow him.
She puts up her hand "I will take no seat at this table"."We were good enough to include you," Annalise says.
"You want me, or is it my dragons?" Dolag smiles "you and your families killed all of the dragons before, you will do it again, I've come here to say that I will have no part in whatever this is, my dragons are not a weapon for you. I am good enough to deliver this message instead of some raven or little peasant".
Annalise smiles back at her "you're making a powerful enemy".
"Perhaps," Dolag shrugs "but I believe the bunker is your top priority".Dolag turns and leaves the room. Maon looks over at Sliabh, who nods, Maon gets up and follows her out.
"That was quite the entrance you made," Maon catches up to her.
"Did Annalise send you after me?" She asks.
"You see Dolag, Annalise and I we do not see eye to eye, our families are different," he says "but you and I, our families were the same".
Dolag stops "they are nothing alike".
"Perhaps I will show you then".
Dolag scoffs "I will go nowhere".
"Your father and my father were close, and I intend to keep that bond out of respect for my father," he says "your dragons are not the only creature in Paracosm".Dolag
Dolag watches as the small ripples form under the boat, the water is almost still. She looks back at Maon, who's rowing the boat, he smiles slightly as he stops. Dolag thinks to herself for a second, perhaps she's allowed this man to bring her into the widest part of the river to drown her, perhaps he'll betray her just as his father done to hers. Just as she gets lost in her thoughts she hears a loud growl. She stands up to look around, but there is nothing.
Soon scales begin raising from the water. The growling becomes louder. Bright red eyes stare at her as it's head lifts from the water. It's head is as large as a planet, blocking the view in front of them.
"Ollphéist," she whispers as the serpent lifts it's head revealing its long neck. It rumbles slightly as it lowers it's snout towards Dolag, as if speaking to her. She puts out her hand and touches it's wet scales. It lifts back it's head and growls again before disappearing under the water. The water becomes still again."Ollphéist spans the length of this river, he protects the river, he protects us," Maon says "I know how important your dragons are to you, as this serpent is our protector, and my brother".
Dolag turns to Maon "how has Annalise not seen him?".
"Her men cannot survive these waters, they cannot handle the roughness," Maon says.
"The water is calm".
"Because I am on it," he smirks "Ollphéist knows his people and respects his people".
"My father wrote about sailing the Cleansed River," she says "he never wrote about the waters being dangerous".
"As I said your father and my father were on the same side," he begins to row "we are not so different".Carman greets Maon at his tent, she looks down at Dolag and frowns. Maon shakes his head and says something in his own language. She stares at him for a moment before leaving.
"What is your proposition then?" Dolag sits down.
"I do not have one," he shrugs.
"Then why am I here?".
"The bunker will open, and we do not know what we are facing," he says.
"We should not be worried about the bunker," Dolag says "a great fire is coming, my family was born from the radiation, I can feel it. Annalise and Munán are a lot closer than you think, and they want the bunker, they do not care what's inside".Maon looks at her, he doesn't say anything for awhile "so what is it you're saying?".
"Munán has been working on something, he intends to destroy this world and create a new one for Annalise, they will not tell you or Sliabh, they will kill the bunker people and take it as their own," Dolag says "perhaps you should speak to Sliabh, and then come see me, for now keep your ear to the ground".
Maon nods "I will speak with him, then we can discuss our plan, I shall send a raven. And Dolag?".
"Yes?".
"Don't trust anyone," he says "Annalise knows everything, someone is telling her about you, keep to yourself".
Dolag nods and leaves the tent.
