Dolag
"At least we know one of your friends are safe," Cormac says to Dextro.
"She's probably the most likeable," Dextro answers, he doesn't appear to care too much that Magda is with Maon."He wants me to meet with him to discuss plans with the bunker," Dolag looks at the letter "I have already told him I have no interest in the bunker".
"Perhaps he thinks you can use it against Annalise," Cormac says "you have their people after all".Dolag looks over at Dextro, he has his head lowered, she knows how he feels. How trapped and alone he feels "I do not have one of the bunker's people".
Dextro looks up, Cormac frowns "apologies my Grace but what do you mean?".
"Do you wish to return to the bunker," Dolag asks Dextro.
"Sooner or later they're gonna find me"."As far as I'm concerned you're not Fionn anymore, I cannot see your face, you do not sound human, you are a creation by the people of the Fire Island," she smiles at him.
"Thank you....your Grace," Dextro nods."So we sail for the Mainlands?" Dolag watches as the two of them nod "we will see what Maon says, just the three of us will go but I will make sure Tine is nearby for protection if needs be".
"I will go the docks now," Cormac says "I'll have a ship ready for you".
"Thank you Cormac"."Why was Magda chosen for the mission?" Dolag asks Dextro.
He shrugs "I don't know much about her, I know her father was one of the main scientists who was close to our leader".
"So she would be a good asset?".
"In what sense?".
"I have a feeling Maon will use her to make contact with the bunker, get them on our side to take down Annalise," Dolag says.
"Why did you act like you didn't know why he wanted to meet when Cormac was here?".Dolag doesn't answer for several minutes, she's used to keeping her thoughts to herself. Cormac has been good to her but he doesn't listen to her, he doesn't allow her to give a thought about something without him giving his opinion.
"Cormac knows too much," she eventually says "something tells me I should trust you, Gealach came to your rescue within seconds. My brothers have never liked Cormac".
"Is that why you're bringing one of them?" He asks.
"Tine, yes," she nods "I think if something happened Gealach would show some hesitation, Tine would rip anyone in half, no matter his relationship with them".
"Let's wait and see," Dextro says.Dextro
Dextro and Dolag walk along the dock. People turn and stare at her in amazement, some reaching out their hands to touch her.
When Hayes first approached Dextro about the mission, Dextro imagined radiated beasts, harsh weather and no land worth living on. He never imagined human beings had survived, never-mind rebuilt a whole new world.
Dextro didn't like a lot of people, he stuck to himself in the bunker. But the people above the ground are different, their skin is damaged from the sun and half of them look like they've never washed themselves, but they're strong and admirable for surviving up here. Everyone in the bunker is so sheltered, in their own little safety bubble. Dextro thought they were the last of the human race but he was wrong, if anything the bunker people are going to go extinct.Dextro follows Dolag closely, people are so mesmerised by her they don't even look at him. Eventually, they reach Cormac standing by a ship. It's small, and wooden. It's nothing like what the bunker has described as ships.
A loud rumble fills the air. The docks become dark as the shadow of a red scaled beast flies over them, shrieking as he flies into the distance.
"That's Tine," Dolag smiles as she watches him fly around again "he's just letting us know he'll be here if we need him".
