Epilogue

Her sweet escape

"Raven Cepheus!" My feet are rooted on the wall where I am currently climbing down when I hear the dangerous voice of my father. 

 "Shit" I muttered.

I was holding tightly on the blanket. I am not allowed to go outside, I'm grounded. But I have to attend my friend's party. That's why I was planning to escape again.

Unfortunately, I got caught.

I sighed deeply and just let my body pull up as my father pulled the rope I made with blankets. 

No party, I guess? Damn it! I'm already 15 years old for Pete's sake! Why are my parents being overprotective?! This is annoying!

"You've been escaping all this time!" Dad gripped my collar and forcefully pulled me.

"Martin, calm down." Mother caressed his back. He puffed a breath before turning his back to us.

I was just looking down, fidgeting with my fingers. I heard my mom's sigh before feeling the bed shrink. She sat beside me.

"Why do you keep on escaping, anak?" She asked and combed my hair using her finger. I have long hair. Daddy wants my hair like this.

"I'm sorry, mommy." I whispered and hugged her stomach.

"Say that to your dad later. He was just mad kaya ka niya nasigawan." Malambing na sabi niya sa akin.

Now, I feel guilty. I've been a bad son.

"I understand" bulong ko.

"You were grounded because you escaped last week and got home late. And now, tatakas ka na naman. From now on, I'll call you 'Escape'. That's your nickname." She chuckled. I just pouted my lips and she playfully pinched my cheeks.

"Binata na ang kuya namin" mas lalo akong napasimangot sa pag baby talk ni mommy.

"Riley! Are you done?" I knocked on the door of my 4-year-old brother. He doesn't want any help from us changing his clothes.

We are going to our parents' friend's house now. I don't know why but I'm kinda nervous as our car is nearing their mansion.

"Escape, come here," Daddy called and I obediently walked towards him. I was frowning because up until now, I hated that nickname. I'm 16 now.

"Stop frowning" he lectured while fixing my hair. He bun it.

I was just wearing a casual polo shirt and pants.

"Let's go?" Si mommy habang hawak ang kamay ng makulit kong kapatid. Pero dahil may sapak ito ay naiwan muna siya sa driver namin. Ayaw kasing bumaba sa sasakyan dahil may pinapanood sa Ipad niya.

"Dike, say hi to our visitors." Tita encourages her daughter but instead, the little girl just hides behind Tito's legs.

"Oh, she must be shy." Mommy giggles.

I know she likes a daughter pero parehas na lalaki ang naging anak niya kaya tuwang-tuwang siya dito sa batang mukhang masungit.
