"You will live, but on one condition only." the spirit said, taking the newborn into their arms, placing a mask over her face. "Today you will die and your soul will continue to live as a forest spirit with human form, but you'll never be able to touch another human, otherwise you'll stop existing, dissolving and devouring you by tongues of blue fire. You'll also be prevented from reincarnating. This is your blessing and curse... Nicha."

"Miyeonnie, this is the last package?" the girl asked, looking at the brunette.
Miyeon turned to her friend, picking up a box from the floor, walking towards the moving truck.
"Yes, thanks Shu."
Shuhua placed the package she was holding in her hands in the truck, brushing her hands.
"Do you really have to leave?" the younger girl asked, looking at the older one with pleading eyes. "This will make it harder to visit you. Soojin and the others are always very busy and your new house is very far from the city."
"I know, Shu." Miyeon said, hugging the girl. "I'll try to come as soon as I finish my new book and spend a few days in the city. I hope to see you again soon. Try not to make Yuqi and Soyeon fight too much and say hi to Soojin for me. I'll miss you Shu."
The two hugged and said goodbye. Miyeon got into the car, driving off.
"SEE YOU SOON UNNIE!!!" Shuhua shouted, waving her hand in the air.
For Miyeon, a new adventure began, in a new environment.
A few months earlier, Miyeon's grandmother had passed away and left her house to her only granddaughter.
The brunette loved that house, lost in the woods where she spent all her summers and now it was about to become her new home.
Miyeon was a writer and needed inspiration and felt that this house could be her new source of inspiration.
After two hours of travel, Miyeon reached her destination.
The house was as beautiful as she remembered it, embraced by the greenery of nature and the sweet sound of birds chirping.
The movers helped Miyeon carry the heavy furniture into the house, helping her rearrange the interior.
It was afternoon and the brunette had just taken a break while sitting on the porch of the house, it was hot and the cicadas were singing.
The brunette stood up, grabbing her phone, before heading into town to buy food, her fridge was empty.
As she returned home, Miyeon couldn't help but observe the countryside landscape and trees as she savored the strawberry ice lolly, imagining putting similar scenarios into her new book.
Approaching her house, Miyeon shifted her gaze towards the forest behind the house, hence the sounds of animals, remembering her afternoons as she played for hours in the woods.
The girl left the shopping bag at home before venturing into the forest. The further she walked, the more familiar the scenery seemed.
The girl's memories were a little fuzzy, until she saw a long stone staircase. Miyeon had a vague memory that there was an abandoned temple at the end of it, but she wasn't sure. The more she went into the forest, the more the entrance to the temple began to be seen, confirming her memories.
Miyeon approached the temple, seeing someone in front of it looking at the sky.
From behind it appeared to be a girl, whose hair was red and dark, gathered in a messy bun, while she was wearing a black tunic with white edges. The girl turned slightly, giving Miyeon a better view. She had a mask resting on her face and her bangs falling over it, while her hands were behind her back.
