The room was quiet and dimly lit.
It was afternoon and the setting sun illuminated slightly the living room of the house.
The room was dusty, its furniture covered with white sheets.
The house had lost its vitality, as had Miyeon.
The brunette was lying on the white carpet in the center of the room, looking at the ceiling, thinking back to all the memories, hers and Minnie's, in that house.
The most vivid memory that occurred within those walls, however, always was their breaking up.
Flashback
"W-When were you going to tell me?" Miyeon asked, tears streaming down her face furiously. "E-Everything you told me was all a lie?! All the promises?! Yours I love you?!"
"N-No, Miyeon. P-Please! Let me explain." Nicha pleaded, crying desperately.
"I don't want to hear anything more from you! Y-You lied to me, Nicha!"
Nicha approached Miyeon, hugging her tightly, even though the girl tried to resist.
Minnie couldn't stop sobbing brutally as the breath in her lungs grew shorter and shorter.
"M-Miyeon, please, you have to believe me." the Thai said, sobbing, taking Miyeon's face in her hands, wiping away her tears, not caring about her own. "I didn't know either. I thought they had finally accepted our relationship." she explained. "I don't know that man. I don't love him!" Nicha cried, desperate and terrified. "I-I'm scared, Miyeon. Stay by my side. We'll get through this too... Please... I love you, Miyeon."
Miyeon was tired. She was tired of the pressure Nicha's family put on her. She was tired of fighting with Nicha because of her parents' opposition. She was tired of crying about this situation. And now? Now Nicha was getting married and she didn't have a clue.
"Please, Miyeon." Minnie whispered, her face now flooded with tears. "Stay with me."
The brunette shook her head violently, her sobs preventing her from breathing.
"I-I'm tired, Minnie." she murmured in a whisper, but Nicha felt every single word hit her heart like arrows. "I'm not happy with you anymore. You know it too. I can't even remember the last time we spent a day without getting angry because of your parents and their expectations of you."
Nicha remained silent as her heart lost its pieces, one by one.
"I want to break up, Minnie." the brunette whispered, not even looking Nicha in the eyes for fear of not saying those words. "L-Let me go."
The Thai said nothing. She couldn't say anything.
End Of Flashback
"You said you loved me..." Miyeon said in a teasing tone, bringing her hands to her eyes. "Then why didn't you even fight for us? Why didn't you stop me that night?"
"I am sorry." Nicha whispered, crouching next to the brunette, stroking her hair. "I love you."
Miyeon moved her hands from her face, meeting Nicha's gaze, while tears never stopped falling from her eyes.
"Then why did you give in to your parents' demands? Why did you agree to marry that man?" Miyeon asked as she looked at Nicha, feeling her hand in her hair.
Nicha said nothing. The tears spoke for her. Her face was expressionless. Without her usual smile.
"Go away..." the brunette whispered, looking at the woman, crying with her. "I know you are not here... You are already on that altar, as you say your vows... The same ones that were once meant for me."
