Chapter 7
I sat down in the back of my first class which was biology. I pulled out my earbuds and my iPod and began to play my music loud enough where I couldn't hear anyone and let my thoughts be clouded, so Adrian's apologies couldn't get through to me.
'Scarlet I'm sorry! How many times do I have to say it?' he pleaded right in front in me.
I turned away and looked out the window, studying the outside details that filled the area, trying desperately hard to avoid Adrian. But remember how I said he was persistent when he made me open my front door when we met? Nothing changed and he still is. Very, very persistent.
He turned to me and put his hands on the table. But I kept an angry and partly deadpan facial expression.
'Come on Scarlet! Say something!' he cried.
I rolled my eyes and buried my head in my arms where I could only see darkness. Not until the bell rang. I sighed and slowly lifted my head. Everyone raced their seats and no one sat by me. Which I much preferred than sitting by an actual person. But it would nice to talk to someone besides my guardian angel. Who freaking embarrassed me in front of students!
He then moved towards the empty seat by me, but I covered it with my hands. He gave me a questioning look but I only glared at him.
'Dont even think about it.' I threatened darky.
'Finally! Something out of you!' he gleamed. Did he not get that I was still angry with him?
'Go sit on the floor for all I care. I don't need you embarrassing me any more than you already have.' I ordered.
'But-'
'Go!' I turned around to face the the board and reread the plans for the day, distracting myself from Adrian. He sighed and moved away from me then slid down a wall slowly directly looking at me. I tried my hardest to not look at him. When the teacher arrived late, which didn't surprise me, he sat in his desk and called for attendance. Then finally, I think he realized I was sitting in his class room and double checked his computer. He looked more awake and frightened when he realized my name was on the attendance list.
That rumor about me supposedly killing my best friend, well it didn't stop at the school. Everyone in this town knew about it. Some news reporters even came here and interviewed a few people. Which made me look even more than a freak than I already was.
He stood up, tightening his tie and cleared his voice. I think everyone could tell he was nervous. Being in the presence of a fake killer, really made people freak out. To me, it was kinda funny.
"Students, we have a new pupil in the class who will be joining us." he began. Who uses the word 'pupil' anymore? Seriously..
'Older fashioned people.' Adrian replied.
I stared directly at him, but the teacher was looking at me so I couldn't give Adrian any glares. Nothing. So I merely acted like I heard nothing out of the ordinary.
"Her name is Scarlet Winters." he introduced. He motioned me to stand in front of everyone, and I recognized people from the hallway. Lovely. So I stood up slowly and I think people did recognize me. I heard gasps from all over the room as people stared at me. I forced a smile on my lips.
