Chapter 10
"God damn it! Why did this particular human have to be so delicious to demons?! Shouldn't this be a guardian angel's job?" I asked myself. The other archangels of course said yes, but since I was still a newbie and had guardian angel experience, they specifically assigned me for this job. Stupid human.
Another kick and punch, and a demon was down on the ground. Still about ten more to defeat. Ten to one. Oh that was so fair!
They kept coming at me, all together. Why did the council assign me such an impossible mission all alone?
Suddenly, two grabbed my arms from behind and held me. I flailed my arms and legs around but I couldn't escape their grasp. Soon enough, a demon came up to me, raised his claws, ready to kill me. I gulped. Was this really it? I hadn't even found a purpose for my creation.
But then HE swooped in.
He managed to kick the demon, who was about to kill me, right in the face and knocked it unconscious. The two holding me gestured the others to get him. I knew what was happening! The archangels knew I couldn't handle this alone so they sent a measly guardian angel to come to my rescue. Even though it was true, I still didn't like it! "Get out of here! This is too dangerous for a measly guardian angel." I called out. He chuckled.
"Oh really?" he smirked, and punched one right in the stomach. He then faced me. "This situation is too dangerous for me? It seems like this place is to dangerous for you." he grinned. Others came at him. Time to show this fool who's the better angel.
I then stomped on one of the demons foot and they shrieked in pain. The other, I snapped his wrist, forcing him to let go of me. Then I go into the middle of the action where that stupid angel was. He made it so we were back to back.
"Seems you aren't as weak as you look." he acknowledged. I rolled my eyes.
"Don't need you here. Why don't you just go back to prowling around a human while I take care of the important stuff." I dodged a punch.
"Oh yeah? Wasn't it me, who saved your cute butt?" he smiled. I blushed. Stupid flirting angel.
"I had everything under control! I don't need your help-" a demon tripped me to the ground and made its way closer to me. Right then, the angel kicked it right in the croch, where the demon yelled and finally scurried off into the shadows. As did the rest of them.
He held his hand out to me, and I ignored him, getting up myself. Then i quickly made my getaway. I felt so embarrassed, having a guardian angel help me defeat lower class demons. What kind of fighter was I? A horrible one that is. "Hey wait up!" he called. I quickened my pace away from him. But he caught up to me in no time.
"Didn't quite catch your name, by the way." he said.
"Yeah, so you can rub it in to all your guardian angel friends that you had to save an archangel's life? Not falling for it." I snarled and continued walking. His hand then touched my shoulder. Sparks flew inside my body.
"No, I just wanted to know your name formally." he clarified. Yeah right! But if I ever want him to leave me alone, I guess...
"Scarlet! Anything else you want to say?" I snapped.
"Well, we do make a pretty good team." he commented.
"Whatever." I said then walled away. I didn't hear his footsteps, so I figured he wasn't following me anymore. But wait!
"You never told me you name." I turned around, seeing him flying mid air, watching me. He smiled again.
"Adrian." he grinned and flew away. I'll have to remember that name. For the future of course!
