Hello, my name is Gisselle and I am blind. I was born with Optic Nerve Hypoplasia. This means that my Optic Nerve was not fully developed while I was in the womb. (I know, tmi but like... it's true.) So, after I was born, everything seemed perfect until... something happened. I started to throw up all my formula! My parents did not know what was going on so the doctors had to do some tests before my mom could leave the hospital. Soon, they found that part of my intestine was knotted which caused a blockage which did not allow the milk to pass. Three days after I was born, I had to have my first surgery, fun right? Another fun fact about me is that NOBODY knew I was blind! Not until a few months later. My grandpa started to notice that I would just be sitting with my head down. He suggested to my mom that her and my dad should take me to the doctor to see what was wrong and they agreed. Sure enough, they found out that I have Optic Nerve Hypoplasia. So yeah, that's a little bit about me. Keep an eye out for my new updates on this story! (You SEE what I did there? Haha!)
