Welcome or welcome back guys! Today, I will be talking about how I became a dancer even as a blind girl.
So, when I was younger, I was put into a ballet class where because of accessibility issues, I could not learn the steps very well. In that class, I had someone that would be helping me during the class which I apreciated. After a few months though, it got kind of hard for me to keep up. A lot of years past and only about a year ago, (around 2022), I joined the Folklórico group in my school. If you know me, you know I love my culture and enjoy representing it through music, clothes, and of course, food. At first, being in the class was so challenging for me because I could not learn the steps but soon enough, after about a month, I began to get the hang of it! Then came my first ever performance! I remember being SO nervous and excited at the same time and after I was done, (I think I did pretty good by the way), I got off the stage smiling. After the school year was done however, I decided to drop the class because all my school stuff had just been piling up and I was stressed. I regretted dropping it because I really missed the freedom that came with dancing. Only a few months ago I went back into the class and now i'm doing great again! Later I will be telling you guys what I do to remember dance steps when i'm performing.
