By the time you guys had gotten to Kyoto there was still enough time for you to grab a drink before going into work. "Can you just drop me off across the street?" You ask and Sakusa nods and does exactly that. You didn't expect him to stop the car completely and get out with you though. "Uh, what are you doing?"

From the street side of the car, Sakusa looked over at you with furrowed brows before walking to the sidewalk to meet you. "I'm going in with you to get a drink," he says and you didn't notice the black medical mask in his hand until he put it on immediately after he finished speaking. You weren't going to argue because there was no reason to.

The man just wanted a drink.

The two of you walked up to the small cafe that fit tightly between two buildings--significantly bigger than itself. You'd never been here before you had just seen it across the street and thought it was a cute place. So you knew you'd take a moment with the menu.

As you stood inside the cafe, which wasn't too busy. You felt like you were being stared at so by default you assumed it was Sakusa. But when you looked over to him he was staring at the menu. Then you decided to glance around the nicely decorated coffee shop and that's when you saw a group of teenage school girls looking at you and whispering. Then another table mixed with boys and girls--maybe college students exchanging stares.

You swallowed hard and tried to get Sakusa's attention without gaining more attention from surrounding eyes. "Sakusa," you whispered while facing the menu again and you felt his gaze turn to you, you were positive it was him this time. "What?" You glanced at him and with your eyes signaled to the two groups behind you at their tables. "People are staring."

Sakusa's eyes narrowed and you watched as he turned around to spot the groups you were referring to. One part of you hoped that he would say or do something but the other half knew that just wasn't going to be the case.  "So? Let them stare," he shrugged while turning back to the menu.

You weren't the best at ignoring things that were right in front of you like people staring at you, but you tried to fight the urge to look back at them again. "Are you ordering first?" You ask Sakusa once you have settled on a drink and the breakfast sandwich you wanted. He shook his hand and encouraged you to go first so you placed your order as the barista rang it up and gave you your total.

As you reached for your wallet from your bag Sakusa stepped up closer to you and asked the barista, "Can you add an iced americano on that?" and handed over his card to the barista who swiped it before you could protest. "Hey--what?" You gawk as the barista hands the card back over to the athlete.

"Your guys' stuff will be ready down at that end," The lady behind the counter smiled and the both of you walked toward the end of the counter she directed you to. "Why did you pay for my stuff?" You asked Sakusa when you reached the other end. He only shrugs before saying, "Saves time," The drinks were done and placed on the counter when he finished his short reply. Just when the drinks arrived your sandwich followed after.

"Do you ever plan on driving to work yourself?" Sakusa asks curiously as you head towards the exit. "I plan on taking the train, I could get my license but I also have to get a car--"

"I can help you get your license, well take you there at the very least," he suggests and you're starting to lose count of the amount of times he had said something that you hadn't expected. "Really?" You ask for confirmation-- the two of you are out of the doors now and standing by his parked car, coffee in hand while taking sips between sentences.

He nodded curtly as his silent way of saying yes and you broke out into a grin. "That's so nice thank you! Then that way I don't have to accept your rides," you exclaim, the grin never leaving your face. Sakusa looks slightly offended though. "Why did you say have to like you're obligated to accept?"  He asks and your grin slowly drops as you think about what you had just said.

"Oh, I don't mean it like that. It's just now I won't be a burden to you, you don't have to offer me pity rides." You explain hoping that you cleared up your poor choice of words. Sakusa hummed in response with a nod. "Right, It's not pity though. I'll keep telling you this L/n, but you're different." He concludes while pulling down his face mask to take a sip of his coffee.

At that he begins to head to the driver's side of his car, "See you L/n." He says and you say goodbye in response and thank him once more. Just like that, he's gone and you stood there stunned for a moment.

You pull yourself back to reality quickly and look both ways before rushing to cross the road.

At this point, you had expected the stares from your new coworkers. Regardless you tried to ignore them as you headed toward the elevator.

Marc had told you you'd be working on the 7th floor with the marketing team. Apparently, the day ahead of you wasn't going to be eventful at all. According to the text he sent you earlier this morning. When you entered the elevator it was empty and you pressed the 7th floor but just your luck when someone else stepped on a second before the doors could start to close.

You almost rolled your eyes until you watched the man press the 10th floor and your eyes examined the figure.

Overgrown dyed blond ends tossed into a lousy man bun. He even wore a black hoodie and navy blue sweatpants. If you could remember correctly this was Kenma Kozume. The CEO and one of the board members.

What kind of luck had been put on you?
