A Selected POV (Kayla Samila)

I never expected to get selected. I was just an average ballerina who was just about to earn the title of a professional dancer. But my life changed when I got picked, when I got to participate in the Selection.

When I arrived to the castle, it was lovelier than I expected. The entrance was grand and triumphant, huge chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, sparkling and lighting up the entrance hall. I was staring at the art on the ceiling. It looked beautiful yet antique. It was a picture of a man and another man stretching out their arms towards each other, their fingertip just millimetres away. I heard the name from my studies, was it Michael? Or Angelo? In my studious daze, I clumsily bumped into a male, slamming into the floor immediately. My body was petite and I didn't have much fat in my body, I was basically weak.
"I'm dearly sorry love! I wasn't paying attention," a male voice spoke to me. His voice had a rich accent. European?
"Are you okay?" he said. British. I was still on the floor struggling to get up. The male rose and stood above me, reaching his hand out for me to grab onto. I reached for his hand and he pulled me up like a feather. I accidentally landed in an arabesque. Force of habit.
"Beautiful, love. Are you a dancer?" he asked me.
"Ballerina, and thank you," I said humbly.
"My! I forgot to introduce myself," he said," my name is Jay. Three, a fencer."
"Kayla, Five. It is a pleasure to meet you Jay," I said.
"A pleasure meeting you Kayla as well." he said smiling brightly. He had one dimple in his left cheek. I found it quite adorable. Kayla, shut up. You are here for the prince. The prince. It is forbidden to be in a relationship with someone other than the prince.

Jay and I became great friends. The Prince, wasn't what I expected. He was very obnoxious and selfish. I definitely did not like him at all. The Prince invited me to watch a movie with him this afternoon. My maids gave me a dress to wear. I loved my maids. They were very kind and they understood me. I took the dress from Anna, one of my maids.
"Did you make this dress?" I asked Anna.
"No it actually was Maria," Anna said blushing.
"Maria, I absolutely love this dress! It's - just so beautiful," I said adoring the dress in the mirror. I could see Maria blushing in the mirror.
"Thank you, Lady Kayla," she said.
"Lady Kayla, may I do your hair? Or would you like to wear it down?" Lucia asked.
"I want to wear it up. Thank you Lucia," I said smiling at them. Lucia put my hair in a bun. I slipped on the lavender dress. It was a small strapless gown, embroidered with gems near the chest. The lavender was an Ombré, from lavender to white. It was gorgeous.
"Thank you guys, this is just perfect. But it's not worth it just to see Prince Robert," I said frowning. The maids knew that the Prince wasn't a dreamy sweet guy, they knew who he really was.
"I think the Prince likes you," Lucia said to comfort me.
"Yeah, he looks at you differently then the other girls, I can see it," Maria said.
"Oh well then, I guess we can see tonight, perhaps," I said quietly. There was a harsh abrupt knock on the door. Anna went to open it and Prince Robert was leaning against the door frame.
"I'm here to pick up Kayla, is she ready?" he asked. I walked towards the door and smiled at the prince.
"Hello Robert," I said quietly.
"You look beautiful Kayla," he said. He linked his arm with my arms and he shut the bedroom door behind us.

We walked silently to the theater. Prince Robert didn't ask me what I wanted to see, such a gentleman. He had an action movie playing and he got some popcorn. I mostly just ate the popcorn rather then watching the movie. Halfway through the movie, I finished the popcorn all by myself.
"Are you enjoying this?" A voice whispered into my ear. I was startled but I realized it was the Prince. I nodded in the dark. Suddenly I felt something warm and moist on my neck. The prince was leaning down towards me. I realized he was kissing my neck.
"R-Robert, what are you d-doing?" I said nervously. He didn't answer me. He just kept kissing. His lips traveled from my neck to my jawline to my lips. I didn't know if I should kiss back however. I broke away and just stared at him.
"Shouldn't we be watching the movie Robert?" I asked quietly.
"I want you Kayla," he said huskily before smashing his lip against mine. He took apart my delicate bun. He kissed hard and he stuck his tongue into my mouth. I tried to push him off me, but realized it was no use. The Prince could do anything he wanted to me. His lips traveled down, near my breasts. I sucked in a sharp breath and gasped. He started pulling down my dress sleeves. I couldn't take it. I shoved him off of me and I felt him land onto the ground. I ran quickly as possible out of the theater. I didn't realize that I was crying. I kept running and running till I tripped on something and fell. I laid on the ground and sobbed. I felt the ground shake from someone's harsh footsteps. I thought it was the Prince and I thought to myself, this is it.
"Kayla! Kayla!" The voice said shaking me. I opened my eyes and saw that it was Jay. I sat up and I hugged him and cried. He hugged me and we didn't say a word. Jay picked me up bridal style and brought me to his room.
