It was the morning the Selection forms were due. I went to the town Center and followed the trail of girls jumping and squealing. I didn't want to do this at all. I saw a line forming. I stood in back of a girl with blonde hair and about the same height as me. I looked up to see how far the line went, and my did it extend. After about a half an hour, I was next to hand in my form and sit down to take a picture. I gave my biggest but fake smile ever. I hope I didn't get picked.

This year, Illea is hosting two selections at once. King Andrew and Queen Arianna had twins, one boy and one girl, Prince Robert and Princess Hermia Even though the boy was older by 2 minutes, they thought why not host two selections. Both children were 20 and still they never experience "love".

Tonight the results will come out on The Report. Everyone stayed in their houses tonight anticipating for the news. I, stayed in my bedroom. I could care less about the Selection.
"America, America! It's starting, it's starting!" May screamed as she pushed the bedroom door opened.
"Come on come on, we have to see who's the Selected!" she yelled as she pulled my hand and dragged me into the living room. Everyone was here. Mom and dad sat on the couch. Kota sat on the floor with Gerad. Kenna sat on the piano bench. I sat down on the floor next to Kota and May plopped down next to me.
Illea's anthem came on and the Royals came to the screen. May started squealing next to me. May has had a huge crush on the Prince. I usually told her to calm down and that you're 14 years old and he's 20.

"Good Afternoon Illea, today we will be announcing the Selected," Prince Robert said. I don't know why everyone thought the Prince was cute, he looked like an average boy. Aspen looked way better than him.
"As the heirs of Illea, we are bound to rule one day. Therefore, the Selection will help us find a partner to rule together with," Princess Hermia said, "Shall we begin?"
"Ladies first."
Hermia went through a bunch of names, Jay a Three fencer, Michael, Six a cook, Joseph, a Two lawyer. She pulled out one more name.
"From Carolina," she began. Carolina? Someone from our place?
"Aspen Leger, Six."
Stop the world. I got up and stormed out. The world was spinning around me. I put my face in my hands and I sobbed. No. I couldn't let him go. He was my friend, my best friend, and I loved him.
