A week had gone by and I was really into all my lessons, however textiles was getting on my back. It was Tuesday morning and I was waiting for Katie and Aaron. I met Aaron outside Katie's house and we started talking until Katie came to meet us.
It was a pretty normal journey to school, nothing too eventful. we went to our form classrooms and were told something about our peer mentoring. We were told to go to the main hall that morning which was where we were going to be for the rest of the day. As I was in fact the only person in my form who was doing peer mentoring I took my bag and proceeded to the main hall. As I made my way down I bumped into Katie. We greeted each other again as we had previously that morning and both proceeded to the main hall.
Once we got there we also met Nicole. I introduced Katie and Nicole to each other and they seemed to get along. This was good news as it seemed a friendship group was beginning to blossom.
W went into the hall which was crowded with so many people from my year. Just then a few teachers settled our chatter and began to explain to us what we were going to do that day.
"I'm so glad it's today because I'm meant to have a full day of lessons today," I whispered to Katie.
"Same," she said, which was followed by us giggling.
We were told to go onto different tables of our choosing and those tables would be our groups for the day. Immediately me, Katie and Nicole went on a table together.
Then another girl sat down. She was white, nearly as tall as Katie and had dark browny black ish hair that was fairly long. She smiled at us all.
"Hey Lucy!" said Nicole. Clearly they knew each other which could mean another friend!
I smiled at Lucy which is what i assumed her nane was.
"Hey, what's your name?" asked Lucy to me.
"Hey, I'm Anita," I said.
"I'm Lucy," she smiled back.
We were sat there for a while but then i heard Lucy whispering something under her breath, and i recognised it immediately. It was the exact dialogue from a hilarious viral video. It was based on the Harry Potter and the Philosiphers stone scene where Hagrid reveals what Harry is. This video was and still is yje shit.
"You're a wizard Harry," said Lucy.
"I'm a what?" I replied quickly. Lucy smiled.
"Harry you are a wizard," said Lucy with an even wider smile.
"But I'm just Harry!" I said trying to keep in character.
"No Harry, you are a wizard,"
"Listen here Hagrid you fat hairy bastard! I'm not a fucking wizard!" I said as that is how the dialogue continues.
"What is with this language? You're gonna get an owl, youre gonna get a wand and you're gonna be fucking pleased about it!" said Lucy.
"I'm gonna put my fucking dick in the owl!" I said.
After that neither of could continue as laughter had completely over taken us. Katie and Nicole on our table just looked at each other as they clearly had no idea what we were reciting. Me and Lucy were literally on the verge of crying.
Once we managed to settle down we had to listen to these two women who were teaching us the peer mentoring course. Firstly we had to choose a team name. Me and Lucy grinned at one another.
"Wizards should be the team name!" I said.
"Or Hogwarts United!" said Lucy. We broke down in laughter.
"No! We need to call it...The Shaneequas!" said Lucy.
"Yes! That's perfect!" I said. Nicole and Katie nodded in agreement. "'Shaneequas' sounds like a girl band," I said.
"Yeaaahhh!!" said Lucy.
Each group was given a large piece of A3 paper so we could write our team name on it. We wrote 'Shaneequas" in big letters. None of us could keep in our laughter.
I could honestly say i will never forget this day. We did so many ridiculous activities but my favourite one was when we had to make up a song about the benefits of having a mentor. Ours was the shit, I'm just saying.
Our song was a sort of parody of the song 'do you want to build a snowman?' from Disney's movie Frozen. And ours was titles 'do you want to have a mentor?'. We were dying with laughter. Amd in case you're wondering, the song went a little something like this:
#do you want to have a mentor?
To help you with all your work?#

yeah there was more but it was lyrically awful so I wont continue but i'm sure you get the jist.
Me, Lucy and Katie couldn't contain our laughter during the song which resulted in Nicole having to sing pretty much all of it which she seemed pretty pissed about as she was elbowing me as a sign thay she wanted me to concentrate. Even so it was a hilarious experience. I was so glad I picked Peer Mentoring. I had made my new friend Lucy that I could tell i would keep for a long time.
