The rain was pouring down on the streets of Shibuya. Civilians were going about their lives, having umbrellas under their heads. However, Vergil, who was amongst the crowd had no umbrella, having to adapt well into the rain. He stops for one minute as he looks up, letting the rain pour down on his face as he closes his eyes.

There were some whispers of the civilians about Vergil. How they felt a bit of fear from him, just by presence alone or seeing him carrying the Yamato all the time. He didn't blame them. They had every right to be scared of him, after all the pain and harm he must've caused humanity. Whether it was the Temen-Ni-Gru, or when his demonic side Urizen attacked with the Qliphoth.

All of it was in search of power like his father, Sparda. His silent moment of regret was interrupted as his unusual and reluctant ally, Raven, spoke up to him.

Raven: You're going to catch cold, you know.

Vergil: ... I've grown used to the rain. *turns to Raven* What'd you find?

Raven: I've search around the outside of the city. The Grimm have begun to make their move... *looks down* Could it be-

Vergil: I doubt it has anything to do with this Salem you talk about. You said so yourself, she won't leave her land of darkness for anything trivial. The Grimm are by means just the wildlife you must avoid at all cost... That is for humanity's case.

Raven: ... *sigh* Even after I told you everything about Salem, you are not afraid of her?

Vergil: If what you say is true about immortality being part of her... She'll meet the same fate as Mundus in due time. The only thing we can hope is that they never meet.

Raven: You barely talk about this Mundus character. Mind sharing a bit of it?

Vergil: There's no need... You'd understand if you read about the tale of Sparda.

The two were now interrupted as dark cloaked old man, seemingly frail and struggling to walk, walk towards the two.

???: ... The sword... Masamune... I must... find it... *coughs blood*

He drops to his knees as the two look at him. Raven didn't bother helping him, but Vergil begins to wonder about such sword. He doesn't know why, but he felt like he remembers Masamune.

Raven: He's a lost cause... We should go.

Vergil: Wait... *kneels down* Masamune... what do you know about it?

???: ... I must... deliver this.... to the blade.

Picking something out of the cloak, he reveals a black and glowing spherical gem.

???: I need... to reunite it... with the sword... Only then... will my dying wish... go fulfilled.

Vergil: ... Where is Masamune?

???: Near... shrine...Outside... the city...

Vergil: It's pretty far... We'll take you.

Raven: Really? We're going to help him?

Vergil: Either that, or stay a coward... 'Besides, this is part of my redemption...'

???: Oh... Bless you, boy... bless you...

He helps him up and carries him by the arm, walking through the crowd with Raven following behind. While they were on their way , Vergil begins to think about the blade Masamune. The name itself felt familiar, but he had no memory of seeing or remembering the blade, only just by name.

Old Man: I... feel it... we're getting close...

Vergil: This better not be a waste of our time.

Old Man: I assure you... *coughs* ... it won't.
