"I read a document, when you got that guy, Isaac, arrested you got them in trouble because they had hired him"
"Wait, you said those ladies moved here 7 years ago, so you're saying they were following me?"
"Yes, they've been taking care of you since the trial for your brother's funeral"
In the way he's talking there's nothing that reminds me of the cute kid-like boy I knew, he seems more mature.
"So what can we do?"
"Join them."
What? Is he serious? He can't be.
"What do you mean?"
"The Boss told me I can join them and be safe, I know everything they would kill me otherwise, you understand?"
"I take a step back and look at him in horror"
I'm about to ask what would happen to me then when the doors open.
Three men walk in, one of them is the one I tried talking to earlier.
"The Boss wants to talk to you" I walk towards him while I look at Ace. He's looking down because he knows he's betraying me. As I'm getting out of the room I hear one of the man ask him "Have you made your choice?"
My eyes fill with tears. He's not my Ace anymore, that pure soul that got me over my brother's death. He's not the good person I thought he was.
