Chapter 40: A new feeling

The ship's metal ramp hummed beneath my boots as I stepped into the sleek vessel, the anticipation tangible in the air. The dark purple suit clung to my form, a second skin that provided both protection and power. The ship roared to life, lifting off the ground and soaring towards the heart of the chaos.

The city below sprawled like a battlefield, a chaotic tapestry of destruction. The Avengers, earth's mightiest heroes, stood ready as we descended. I was surprised that neither Tony nor Steve had a long speech planned. Landing on a New York street, I leaped out, boots meeting the pavement with a metallic thud. The late afternoon sun cast long shadows over the streets.

The vibrations on the ground made me reach towards the floor feeling the vibrations as if they were speaking words to me. A sense of tension filled the air. My powers crackled at my fingertips, and the dark purple suit seemed to pulse with anticipation. The Avengers, each with their quirks, stood beside me.

The terrorists scattered like rats in the streets below, unaware of the storm descending upon them. I took a deep breath, feeling the adrenaline surge as the first explosion of chaos erupted. My environment became a blur of motion as we charged into the fray.

The city streets became a battleground, a dance of combat and destruction. I sensed the vibrations of approaching enemies, their footsteps creating a discordant rhythm against the backdrop of chaos. I moved with purpose, the dark purple suit allowing me to blend seamlessly into the urban environment.

As the Avengers engaged the terrorists, I found myself face-to-face with a particularly formidable enemy. The air crackled with tension as we exchanged blows, a relentless dance of offense and defense. Each strike sent tendrils of vibrations through my body, my breathing heavy as we both struck. My feet swift and quiet. Slipping around and behind the person I was fighting. Making my blows powerful and dangerous.

Finally taking the terrorist down I turned, running into another fight. I of course was not going to listen to Tony seeing as I was doing just fine. I hear gunshots close by. Weaving and dodging I took down the man and smile proud of my growth. I heard more gun shots before a bullet struck my side, the impact jolting through me. I staggered but pressed on. Fighting the pain, retaliating with a burst of energy that sent the man who shot at me sprawling. The fight intensified, a flurry of punches and kicks as I engaged in a prolonged struggle with the enemy.

I felt the vibrations of each attack, dodging and weaving with precision. The dark purple suit bore scuffs and scratches. As the enemy persisted, I could feel the Avengers fighting alongside me, their powers converging in a haze of destruction. Loki's illusions danced through the air, when did he get here I thought he was staying at the tower, diverting attention and creating openings. I tried communicating with finger puppets trying to make a person walking with my pointer and middle finger with my tumb tucked into my palm. The 2 fingers mimicked walking. This attempt to communicate with my friends landed me some new injuries and still no luck trying to talk to them.

The battle continued, the sun dipping lower on the horizon, casting long shadows over the conflict. The vibrations of the city echoed with the sounds of combat - the clash of weapons, the distant roars of powers colliding. I pressed on, my movements fueled by a combination of adrenaline and a tinge of fear.

I found myself caught in a relentless exchange with the opponent. Each blow resonated through me, the vibrations merging with the cacophony of battle. I fought for survival.

Amidst the battle, I caught glimpses of my comrades engaged in their own battles. Thor swung his mighty hammer, Iron Bucket Man soared through the sky, and Cap led the charge. The dark purple suit blurred as I deflected attacks and delivered precision strikes to those around me.

Bruises beneath the suit, aching muscles, yet no time for rest.

A tap from loki on my shoulder made me jump and turn round with unimaginable speed, a knife clutched in my hand, it pressed against his throat. Breathing a sigh of relief I stepped back only to be tugged away by Loki heading straight to the ship.

The Avengers stood amidst the aftermath, a united front against the fading echoes of battle.

I wiped blood from a cut on my cheek, the dark purple suit was comfortable and felt so similar to my old one that I hardly noticed a difference.

The sun dipped below the horizon, casting a weary glow over the city.

The ship's ramp clanged shut behind me again creating its well known thud sending waves of vibrations through my bones. The Avengers aboard. The vessel lifted off, soaring through the night sky towards the tower. The city's chaos faded into distant lights below.

Inside, the Avengers took their seats, battle-worn but resolute. I sat, the dark purple suit a testament to the clash of powers and steel. Loki glanced my way, a silent sorry from scaring me.

As the ship soared through the almost night sky, I felt the feet vibrations beneath my own. The Avengers exchanged glances.

The ship landed on the tower's rooftop, the ramp descending once more. The Avengers moved with a wearied determination towards the tower's entrance.

I wiped away the residue, the dark purple suit was tore and looked beat up, Tony was going to be PISSED. That is for later me though. The tower's lights flicked on, lighting up the room. The fatigue etched on their faces.

Inside the tower it was quiet with only the echoes of footsteps, I felt them but anyways. The hum of technology and the dim glow of lights welcomed us back. I took a moment, appreciating the stillness. The team dispersed, each to their own rooms.

As I stripped away my suit I could feel my heart still racing and my legs throbbing with exhaustion. The dark purple suit lay discarded. I step into the shower trying to wash away the blood and clean out my wounds. A hot shower felt amazing on my wounds. They stung but they felt clean and taken care of.

Once finished I put my purple tank top on and black leggings. I regrouped with the rest of the team in the living room. No words were spoken as we gathered, tony, steve and bruce all shared a look of tire spread across their face, and probably mine too. I felt the blood from my wounds ooze into the bandages I put on after my hot shower. I saw Tony's mouth move, still terrible at lip reading I gave up and snuggled into the corner of the couch. Ignoring the world. My eyes closed.

With my eyes closed I felt the couch shift and dip down as someone sat on it, or leaving, I couldn't tell. I could feel the thud of Thor's footsteps across the floor, I smiled knowing he was probably saying his signature 'Hello man of Irons'.

I sat there for a while not able to fall asleep but able to keep my eyes closed and feel myself slowly resting not enough but for now it would have to do.
