The two walked down the street in a comfortable silence as the school got further in the distance. It was nice to just be alone and have time to pause and really process what was going on, it still seemed so surreal like it was just all a really good dream.
"I still can't believe this, I can't believe you're actually here." Estella said aloud glancing at her friend as they walked.
"I know, I can't believe I'm actually here too. You have no idea how long I've waited just to be back, if my aunt hadn't allowed me to come back to take care of my grandmother I think I would have left on my own. It's beautiful back home but without the people I really care about it's just lonely" Caspian said while taking Estella's things from her as they walked.
"It's been a little lonely without you too, I didn't want to say too much in school since there might have been someone listening but I'm really happy to have you back. It feels like all the pieces of the puzzle are back together."
"Well you don't have to be lonely anymore, I'm never leaving again but if I do I'm making sure to bring you with me." He said in all seriousness looking her in the eyes with a smirk.
"I wouldn't hesitate to come..." she replied without even thinking.
It was like everyone and everything else in the world had vanished and it was just the two of them as they walked a long the quiet street. In a matter of minutes they had talked about everything and yet nothing at the very same time. Being together again just felt all too natural and that time had left them both entirely too fast. Before they knew it they were already only a few feet away from Estella's door; to her dismay. She didn't want their time to end so soon and neither did he but they both knew for situations sake it would be best if they parted ways before anything more happened.
"Do you want to come in and say hi to my mom?" Estella asked, knowing it had been ages since they'd last seen each other and her mother most likely didn't know the boy was back in town.
"I would love too, she'll probably be surprised to see me."
"Oh I know she will, she might be a little more excited than me." She said while unlocking the front door.
"Mom!" Estella called across the house as Caspian followed in behind her.
From what Caspian could tell not much had changed in the Hijazi family home since the last time he had seen it. Maybe a few new pictures and pieces of furniture but other than that the home still looked the same. He couldn't help the comforting and nostalgic feelings that washed over him from revisiting a place that he considered his second home.
"In the kitchen!" Her mom Natasha called from the back of the house.
"I've brought a surprise guest home today"
"What surprise guest??" Her mom asked in a questioning tone, wondering who her daughter could have possibly brought into her home. Estella quickly pushed Caspian in the direction of the kitchen towards her mother not bothering to answering her question.
Before a word could be uttered from either of their mouths Natasha dropped the glass she had in her hand upon turning around and seeing the tall blond male standing in her home.
"Is this who I think it is...?" She asked looking the boy up and down with a teary eyed smile.
"Hey Mrs. Natasha, it's been a while" Caspian said reaching out to hug the chocolate woman in front of him before giving her a chance to fully process what was going on.
