Reece's POV
Knox and I walk into the club. The music deafening and the multicolored lights blinding. We walk together to the back room. The employees who do see us wave at us.
Today I got a phone call from one of my men on the illegal side of business. One of the drug dealers we work with has a proposition and wants a meeting tonight. I set up the meeting at one of my nightclubs, Aurora.
I called Atlas to watch the others, with Emerson being back I don't trust them being alone. Normally Atlas comes with me to meetings like this but I sent him and Veronica on a trip this last week to Italy.
The dealer should already be here and set up in the back room waiting for us. This club is set up for illegal meetings like this. The back room is completely soundproof, checked after every meeting for any bugs or cameras, and a secret door that leads outside. Most people think this is a special VIP room, not far off. I have one waitress who is allowed to come in, she's worked for me for years and her dad was involved in the mafia years ago. I trust her.
We get to the back room which already has the two guards waiting. One of them lets us in. We walk in to see the dealer, Johnny, he's a Hispanic man born and raised with several connections across countries.
"Mr. Stone." He stands up and reaches his hand out.
"Johnny." I shake his hand and we both sit down.
"So while I was down in the Caribean I came across one of my old friends. He set me up on this great thing. A new drug, they're calling it Fun. Dumb name I know but this thing is no joke. It was amazing one pill and I was ready to give a speech to Congress while surfing the pink waves."
"How much?" I ask. I don't care what effect the drugs have on people only the profit.
"1k a case." He says.
"How many?"
"'Bout 5,000 pills in case, that's 5,000 doses." He sits forward in his seat. One thing I like about Johnny is that he tries all of the drugs but he's not hooked. He keeps his head clear for the most part keeping business running smoothly.
"How much would you charge?" Johnny and I's deal goes like this. He's allowed to sell on my territory but I get a cut and all drugs get run through me first.
"5 bucks a pill. Cut you a 20 percent share. What do you say?" I do the math in my head liking the outcome.
"Alright. I'll let my guys know. When should I be expecting this 20 percent?"
"Give me two months, get the pills here, and get 'em popular."
"Sounds good." We both leave. He and his few men leave the club first and me and Knox leave a few minutes after him.
We leave the club and get in my car.
"When are you going to tell Emerson?" Knox asks me from the passenger seat.
"I don't know." I sigh. "He's just starting to trust us. No one takes well to this information." When Atlas told Veronica they had been dating for about 9 months when he told her. She freaked out, I remember him calling me worried about her and what she would do. Turned out she went for a drive got drunk and came back home to him. She took a while to accept it but she's fine with it now and occasionally helps out.
"Don't worry, you'll know when the time is right," Knox reassures me. I nod silently and drive us home. We get back late it's early morning technically. We had waited at the office to do random things before our meeting. Leaving at midnight would have liked more suspicious then not showing up until now.
